I'm not sure this falls into what I think of as a wannabe...this for me falls into the category of someone just not interested in the person sending the e-mails and doesn't want to deal with the possible negative repercussions of rejecting the sender.

For me wannabes are the people who talk the talk but make no steps to walk the walk.  They don't take classes, they don't believe they need any kind of education to wield a flogger or a singletail, and their main (only) motivation is sex.

wannabees are those who get enjoyment out of talking about being a slave but lack the courage or commitment to actually do it. I also list those who like to come here and play games by putting in a profile then jjust reading emails without ever answering any.

A newbie is someone who needs and desires to learn, grow, and improve for the sake of herself and a potential Dom.

Can someone tell me what these intl. mean as I am a newbie desiring to learn and grow and am lost. WIITWD

(sings I wana be I wana be I wana be like Mike) LOL that song always pops into my head when I hear this fraze. Honestly everyone is a wanabe at some point so the frase is used wrong i think what is really ment is someone insinsear or dishonest. Someone that claims to be a Dom so they can take advantage of someone eager to searve. Someone that wants their house clean so they say they are a Dom so they dont have to pay a maid to do it they can have a sub to it and label it service. Someone that wants to get sex real easy and assumes that a sub is going to do that and claims to be a Master so they can get some easy sex only to see it isnt so easy and the sex aint so free so they then claim the slave is a fake.....

Since I describe myself in my profile as a wannabe, I think I’ll toss in my too cents.

Despite years of reading, researching, and thinking (read: whacking off to some really elaborate fantasies) about BDSM but never having actually participated in it, I felt it was important to be up-front and honest about my total lack of experience in the lifestyle. I didn’t want to use the word "newbie" because in my mind a newbie was someone who was just starting out (attending their first munch, having their first play date, etc.) Wannabe seemed more appropriate.

Even my profile name reflects my lack of experience. My mid-life crises was short but intense and I am now working on re-ordering my life so I can become what I want to become, taking it in a step by step process (attending my first much would be like... number seven, but I’m still working on number two). I have in my mind a vison of what a Master should be and hence what I should aim for. I always thought Marcus was a cool name so I have labeled this fantasy Master I want to be as Marcus. Hence my profile name is short for "Marcus to be."

Anyway, I knew that some use the term "wannabe" in a derogatory manner but I thought it would be akin to battle experienced soldiers calling the new, fresh out of basic training, replacement "green stick." I figured if your new you’ve got to take some jibes (and I am a firm believer that if you can’t laugh at yourself, then you have no business laughing at anyone else).
Seeing how some people use it as a serious insult (ascribing to a wannabe things that simply don’t apply to me), however, I am wondering if I shouldn’t change the word wannabe on my profile to something else. I don’t want people jumping to false conclusions about me (who does?). Newbie still doesn’t seem appropriate and "curious" doesn’t seem right either (I moved beyond "curious" and into "mental self indulgence" years ago). I am open to suggestions.
