i haven't posted for quite some time; however, i am on the cite daily.

Here's my mini rant:  i was just having an email conversation with One that supposedly wants to meet later this month.  We are emailing back and forth this evening, both o/l at the same time... then poof! He suddenly stops responding... sorta disappears without one word.  Now, i am aware that it could be many things: he lost connection, phone rang, etc.; however, baring those things, it disappointed me when He stopped responding.  Does being a submissive or slave mean one cannot expect common courtesy?  Am i not worth a simple "i need to run"?  (Ok mini rant over).  :)

I had that happen to me also.  I wondered for about a second and then just forgot about it...simply wasn't worth my time.

Don't feel bad, its happpened to me too...they talk for a little while, then they disappear.  Sometimes I think they have this fantasy of how you will be, and when you don't live up to that fantasy, they move on to someone else...Just my thoughts on it.

i belived it was not like a chat where one say bye bye when one post mails back and forth quikly and thath when one ran out of time one could just stop and send mails when one had time again, not like a chat where one say goodbye and witch is mutch more like a conversation, am i wrong?

But if you have been talking/chatting for awhile, wouldn't common courtesy demand at least a "see ya later"?

No, you are not wrong; however, like chat (i can't chat here for whatever reason), they were rapid back and forth emails.

It's not a big deal, there were other red flags (yes, i see this sort of behavior as a red flag).  i just wanted to know if Doms/Masters think this is an ok way to treat someone that is submissive that they do not know.  (Probably shoulda posted in the Ask Master forum, but i haven't been posting for a while).

Damned...you skeered them...lol!

I think it goes back to a similar r/l experience than mistoferin spoke about a few months back, where they had a guy come into their munch and when he finally realized that these people do this stuff for real and it wasn't just an online fantasy...he then literally he ran out the door claiming they were nuts.

Sometimes reality scares the crap out of some folks! They create a profile, they chat, they e-mail, sometimes they even post, then they figure out that there are real people out there doing real things. They are shocked! Then they delete their profile and go back to their vanilla existence thinking they are lucky they escaped.

Hi.
I am not sure if this was the first and only time, or if this has been ongoing behavior.  My One did that a few years ago, really got me mad.  It turned out he had been working really long hours and just fell asleep at the computer.  It was not a behavior he had exhibited before and has not since.  Before you go red flagging that, just see if something was going on of which you had no information.  (smile) just some small advice from one who has been there.  If it was just rudeness, by all means, red flag the hell out of it!!!!

Interestingly enough i did hear from him again, and he is starting to sound desperate.  As i said there were other red flags (not very forthcoming with information about himself, no picture, just 'are we meeting, are we meeting'.  The answer obviously is NO, we are NOT meeting. :P

OK, to be real generous, give him a day to say his dog ate the computer. If no reply, I think the expression was "ya skeered him!"

It's not ok to *habitually* treat anyone like that - but if it's just the once from this particular person, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt rather than assign a red flag.

I was online a few weeks back when a truck took out a nearby power pole!  Not only did my computer shut down, it was several hours (and ultimately way too late) before power was restored.  Now I wasn't chatting with anyone but these things do happen....

I'm just wondering if he's copping the flak for a one time thing because of others who have done it to you regularly?  But I know what you mean anyway; it's not just doms or males who suddenly vanish without a word or apparent reason - even though they still log in most nights....

Focus.

Thanks All for your responses.  Yes i agree many things could happen that a person has zero control over; had this been the only thing, i would probably say 'ok, just a computer glitch'; however, safety is first with me.  Thanks again for all responses!

The sudden loss of connection also tends to occur when ones wife walks in the room.

Be well,
Julie
