^ Speaking of ignored socks . . . here is some stuff I had laying around on my desktop I was meaning to post but was too sick to finish authoring it.

All those left foot socks that go missing are quite a mystery, so much so the government created Bureau of Missing Socks. It began as a company in the Union Army during the Civil War formed on August 1st, 1861. Joseph Smithson was assigned to the footwear division, Army of the Potomac, supply, where, after a short assessment of his capabilities, he was put in full and complete charge of socks, enlisted and officer.

Major Smithson’s first concern was not buying new socks for the army but maintaining and repairing the ones on the feet of the soldiers. He was the force behind General Order 48904S that required that each member of the North’s forces turn in a used sock before receiving a new one and document all those missing... his first brush with the missing sock phenomenon.

Well, I have solved the mystery. Those missing socks appear to turning up here at CollArChat. In the spirit of my promise to change the tone of my posts and in light of many socks that recently popped up to complain about CM, I give this perspective about Arpig [unfinished]

Not actually a sock, but the sock's predecessor, a foot wrap, it has been carbon dated to the year 79 BC. Reasons are many. But if the ratio of credible profiles..all others I consider true-socks..is low then there is a knock on effect. Many apt analogies pyramid perhaps, tsunami. This applies to all sites – I am sure some of you have seen fuller versions I have wroted in the past. Far as I can see some of you regulars have kept this place going. I actually sigh when I log on here and two in particular I am growing wearisome off...but it’s not there faults, I refer you to my first line.

low temperature washes & probability wave theory

The physicists question is “ why are quantum mechanical effects like wave particle duality, probability wave theory, not seen on the macroscopic world?

Clearly spontaneous creation and destruction of socks inside a washing machine would violate all conservation laws, especially sock parity, and the conversion of the mass of the sock into energy would most certainly play havoc with a low temp wash.
Theory 1: tunnelling. If socks disappear and/or appear without being destroyed or created.
Explanation Tunnelling states more or less that’s its possible for matter to instantaneously transport from one place in the universe to another. Construction will commence soon on a gigantic washing machine, much like sliders (TV prog) hmm who was that babe in that series again grrrr

Theory 8: Space Time lines. As each sock passes around the appliance in a different space time line, only one sock is permitted under general relativity, to return to the observes frame of reference
Theory 9: Wave-sock duality. The harder you look for a sock the harder it is to find

I disagree.

I think socks are merely the pupal stage of coathangers. When placed into a warm, wet, soapy environment they emerge as tiny invisible flying coathangers.

Then when you open the washing machine door they fly upstairs and complete the growing stage in your wardrobe.

I will not engage with them as there is no point in doing so.

One can't reason with the unreasoned and trying to make points with them is about as satisfying as arguing with a head of lettuce.

I have also put many on hide, particularly as the oxygen thief behind the socks seems to have a teeny little lady-boner for me, which is getting a bit boring and tedious.

My 'report wankstain button' finger is getting sore now.
