Funny. You forgot to mention the SA's Doctrine of

If a trans person needs help, push that person into the group they do not identify with. This will ensure that any MtF transpeople will get raped and harassed.

I am as puzzled by the op as is everyone else, but...

since its inception, the salvation army has given food, money, shelter, emergency relief, counseling, clothing, goods and job training to hundreds of millions of people around the world.

this is their official position, or statement, as concerns the populations you are referencing:

quote:

The Salvation Army and the LGBT Community

The People We Serve

Each year, thanks to generous donations, The Salvation Army serves nearly 30 million Americans - or one person every second - from a variety of backgrounds. People who come to us for assistance will be served according to their need and our capacity to help - regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

The People We Hire

The Salvation Army embraces employees of many different faiths and orientations. Our hiring practices are open to all, and we adhere to all relevant employment laws, providing domestic partner benefits accordingly.

The People Who Support Us

Many people - including those in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community - support us with time and financial resources because of a common cause and commitment: To serve people in need.

and a testimony:

quote:

"I called (Harbor Light) and told them everything - that I was on a fixed income, disabled, transgendered and trying to get away from my ex. It wasn't even an hour later that they called back and said they'd hold a spot for me. I arrived with nothing but a hope to start my life over and a desire to be strong again. A year and a half later, I was back on my feet. Living there was drama-free and I was never disrespected. They started a community service bug in me that's kept me active to this very day."

- Jacquelynn Massengill, Salvation Army volunteer
and former transitional housing resident

there are also plenty of other links/stories/position statements on the issue as concerns people whom the church can nevertheless love while still being in disagreement over their lifestyle.

that all said, do not expect the church to believe like the world.

.....and to a very large degree, we can thank Joan Kroc heir to Ray Kroc fortune. (McDonald's) She gave the SA $1.5 billion in 2003. It was the largest single donation ever to a charity and started the biggest construction effort ever undertaken by a single charity. Most were modeled after the San Diego community center.

If you look at it a bit cockeyed; separate toilet facilities for men and women could be considered discriminatory and should be done away with. Any SJWs want to take up this cause?

The Salvation Army Articles of Faith are called the "Doctrines" and follow the main outline of historic Christian teaching as derived from the Scripture. These beliefs have not essentially changed since the earliest days of the Army in England. It is required of officers of all ranks that their teaching, in public and private, shall conform to these eleven Articles of Faith.

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.
We believe that there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.
We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead-the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.
We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.
We believe that our first parents were created in a state of innocency, but by their disobedience they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suffering and death made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever will may be saved.
We believe that repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit, are necessary to salvation.
We believe that we are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and that he that believeth hath the witness in himself.
We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.
We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the immortality of the soul; in the resurrection of the body; in the general judgment at the end of the world; in the eternal happiness of the righteous; and in the endless punishment of the wicked.

My Grandmother was christened by The Salvation Army.

Funny how in England they are a pretty unassuming lot who tend not to poke their collective nose into other people's business.

The Sally Army they're called here.

Or are we going to segue into a discussion of Major Barbara?

I saw a wonderful production at the Shakespeare Theatre here in DC. Really interesting, though the ending seemed a bit too easy.

I walked into the making of a film of it once, when I was a young kid. Traipsing through the woods near my home when, suddenly, a man with a big coat and stupid hairstyle jumped out from behind a tree going 'Shhhh!' at me.

Dunno, but they looked upon pretty fondly here, Thompson.

An age gone by where people played brass bands, lived simple lives and advocated charity.

Quite an appealing thought really when you compare with today's age.

Unlike most, I think science has a lot to answer for.
