What's the average time it takes to upload a photo to my account? Mebbe I'm just impatient.

For me, usually about 30 seconds but it can take an hour or more.

ETA: Make sure the image you are trying to upload isn't in breach of ToS and it is within the stated file types and sizes otherwise it won't work.

Pretty sure my photos are within guidelines. It's a new account so I wasn't sure if it was a waiting period or something.

I get the "profile updated" message but nothing happens

How big are the photo files? Once upon a time there was a 200k cap on photo size here.
