ORIGINAL: LadyConstanze You may want to inform your government that their official online import restriction for chewing gum is wrong, because you said so Import of chewing gum for sale is wrong, but bringing a few packs of gum or two for personal consumption. So if you bring it in, in large quantities, maybe you just need to justify why you need so much gum, if it's not for sale. But actually chewing gum, I mean buying gum from another country, and putting it in your mouth in Singapore to chew it is not illegal. On top of that, we can buy gum legally from pharmacies too. You should visit Singapore sometimes, I'd chew gum with you. quote:
As of 1 January 2015, the population of Singapore was estimated to be 5 443 835 people. This is an increase of 0.82 % (44 169 people) compared to population of 5 399 666 the year before. In 2014 the natural increase was positive, as the number of births exceeded the number of deaths by 19 169. Due to external migration, the population increased by 25 000. The sex ratio of the total population was 1.017 (1 017 males per 1 000 females) which is lower than global sex ratio. This is silly, our population is 6 million but only 2 million are Singaporeans. 4 million people are legal foreign workers. We have alot of foreigners working in Singapore because our economy is sooo good that we have more jobs than, enough people to fill all the jobs! We had Donald Trump ish policies and they work over here. Bring lots of foreign companies wanting to open their company in Singapore, create alot of jobs. It's about making yourself more competitive. On top of that, we are competiting with poor countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines with weaker currencies, and cheaper labour, yet we have more jobs than them, we have companies choosing us over them, despite our labour being more expensive. We are doing something right. Donald is right, things like infrastructure makes a huge difference too. We beat them in infrastructure. Find me a Nigerian who knows more about Singapore than me. I challenge you. I also count Singaporeans by eligible voters, because it means they are Singaporean. Not by their status of living in Singapore. And our recent election this year have tabulated about 2mil plus eligible voters only. And since our birth replacement rate is so low, that's why the government encouraging more quality immigrants for replacement as they given up on birth rate, I don't count the children. Still, I know we have less than 2mil true blue Singaporeans, since I really don't want to count those who got citizenship through immigration. As we still don't really consider them Singaporeans. We consider their kids Singaporean. Too many people just changing to Singapore citizenship to evade tax from their country but not even residing in Singapore. My boss for 11 years is an American who gave up his American citizenship for our Citizenship to evade US tax. He runs his own multiple business here, is a multi-millionaire. Another popular fellow, Eduardo Saverin, facebook co-founder, also to evade US taxes, became a Singaporean, and his popular here for investing heavily in our local companies. But you know, you are losing your multi-millionaires to us, and when they come here, they open companies and create jobs. Donald Trump is 100% right. Bernie plan to increase taxes on the rich....., I don't know how will that benefit America when all the rich simply leaves to countries who tax them peanuts, like ours. http://www.straitstimes.com/politics/ge2015-voter-turnout-at-9356-per-cent-improves-slightly-from-2011-record-low
