malefica -> Technical Problem (11/17/2015 12:07:17 PM)

Hello,
Sorry for this being my first post!

I accidentally clicked 'do not show' on the dialogue box, and now it is not letting me reply to messages or save my profile if I add an image.

Is there any way to rectify this?

I tried posting this via the support option, but because sending that also requires the dialogue box... it naturally didn't work.

Thanks.

The suggestion I got off the moderators was to re-create the account. So, here I am!

I thought for one brief moment you were from Newcastle in NSW *smile*, but no, it is the original *smile*.

I've had similar mistakes made before!

I sailed with a few Geordies on different ships many years ago...................I even learned to speak some of the language and also, not to refer to them as 'Monkey-Hangers' *smile*

I learned that lesson the hard and painful way !!

Haha, I'm not a Geordie by birth or by accent, but my former Owner was. He was with the Merchant Navy at one point, and said that when he went to Australia, in 8/10 ports they stopped in, the first person he came across was a Geordie! That highly entertained me...

I can believe that. I was originally from Kent and in and around London and I too was in the M.N. but since having come to Australia, I can't get over the number of Geordies, Scousers and Londoners I keep bumping into..................one old lady was one whose milk money I used to steal many years ago when I was delivering her papers...................I bought her a litre of gin to make up for it and we became good friends

Brilliant! Can't say my former Owner ever did that, but he did describe the tot of rum they were given before going ashore to make them more likely to fight people from other ships...

He was in a different company to me then *smile*.................I don't remember ever needing rum or reason to get into brawls ashore. But the funny side of that was, that if a shoresider threatened a seaman in any way, all the ship's crews would combine against the shoresiders. I saw that happen many times around the Aussie and Kiwi coasts.....................The George in St Kilda, (Melbourne) was always a popular place for that to happen.
