From your link:

the Prophet Mohammed told his followers returning from a military campaign: "This day we have returned from the minor jihad to the major jihad," which he said meant returning from armed battle to the peaceful battle for self-control and betterment.

Except the author neglects to mention that the quote he cites is neither in the Quran nor a hadith from any of the recognized collections. See here, here, and here.

Excellent read, Lookie. Makes me wonder if the best way to defeat ISIS is to combat them in ways as contradictory to their hopes and expectations as possible. Not only to destroy their army but to publicly display a ruined version of their vision of future events.

there was a smattering of assertions there that, consistent with what I was recently arguing in another thread, fly in the face of the notion of "they will leave us alone if we leave them alone."

quote:

Following takfiri doctrine, the Islamic State is committed to purifying the world by killing vast numbers of people...

“We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women,” Adnani, the spokesman, promised in one of his periodic valentines to the West. “If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market.”...

After its battle in Dabiq, Cerantonio said, the caliphate will expand and sack Istanbul. Some believe it will then cover the entire Earth...

Similarly, accepting any border is anathema, as stated by the Prophet and echoed in the Islamic State’s propaganda videos. If the caliph consents to a longer-term peace or permanent border, he will be in error...

In April 2013, Adnani declared the movement “ready to redraw the world upon the Prophetic methodology of the caliphate.” In August 2013, he said, “Our goal is to establish an Islamic state that doesn’t recognize borders...

Only one problem with the above.

And, I won't bother going round the houses as we did last time until you're prepared to be fair.

Do me a favour and list the jaunts of Western countries into muslim countries and vice versa.

Then we can have an honest conversation.

I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say your list will be 95% Western countries invading muslim countries.
