Donald Trump Defends Racist Retweet: 'Am I Gonna Check Every Statistic?'
GOP front-runner refuses to back down after citing bogus crime statistics.

Donald Trump on Monday night defended his retweet of fabricated crime statistics that blamed African-Americans for most of the nation's murders.

"Am I gonna check every statistic?" the Republican presidential front-runner told Bill O'Reilly on Monday night's "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News.

The phony stats claim African-Americans killed 81 percent of white people. In truth, 82 percent of murders involving white victims were committed by white people, according to the FBI's 2014 crime data.

"This bothered me," O'Reilly said of the retweet. "It's totally wrong."

Trump was unapologetic.

"I didn’t tweet, I retweeted somebody that was supposedly an expert and it was also a radio show," Trump said.

"Why do you want to be in that zone?" O'Reilly asked.

"Hey Bill. Bill. Am I gonna check every statistic?" Trump said. "I've got millions and millions of people, @realDonaldTrump by the way."

"You've got to, you're a presidential contender," O'Reilly said.

"This came out of radio shows and everything else," Trump repeated.

"Oh c'mon," said O'Reilly. "Radio shows?"

"All it was is a retweet, it wasn't from me, and it did," Trump persisted. "It came out of a radio show and other places because you see all the names."

Trump was apparently referring to Wayne Dupree, a conservative radio host tagged in the tweet. However, Dupree said on Twitter he had nothing to do with it:

O'Reilly told Trump he was looking out for him and "every honest politician."

"Don't do this," O'Reilly advised. "Don't put your name on stuff like this, because it makes the other side, it gives them stuff to tell the ill-informed voter that you're a racist. You just handed them the platter."

O'Reilly also suggested that Trump give up tweeting.

"Give it up for Lent," O'Reilly said. "Lent is coming soon."

apart from that more rationally minded people might all be wondering exactly how this is "racist?"

just saw this, which is at least partially relevant to the conversation:

"black on black crime is caused by socioeconomic disadvantage"

white on black crime is caused be racism"

its racist to mention black on white crime"

It's not racist, but Trump retweeted a source that he thought was reliable. That's not racist.

Anyway, I do agree that Trump is not someone who will help bring race relations together. His probably the worst candidate for that.

But jobs and economy and infrastructure, his the one! So it depends on what's most important now.

To me, the race relations bit, thanks to slavery, is gonna take another gazillion years to heal the gap. And it's just gonna be something America will have to keep grappling with. They just need to make sure punishment for law enforcement that shoots unarmed people are severe enough to prevent it from happening. And fair prosecution keeps happening.

Jobs? He knows how to make money, mostly in real estate, he owns and has not owned any thing that actually creates more jobs, such, unless you count creating more bell hop, maid, and service jobs.

His knack is making money, and he has lost as much as he has made. Plus the man approves of moving domestic jobs over seas, "companies need to make money, and moving jobs outside the US is a way to do that." Here is his idea of American profit Trump the hypocrit

His investment strategy is great for the economy, of other countries.

His idea for dealing with ISIS will get us into yet another war we cant win. We sure as hell didnt win in Iraq or Afghanistan. People bitch about Obama using drones, well considering I am a combat vet, I am not too thrilled about the prospect of putting more American troops on the ground in the middle east, which is exactly what his ideas would mean.

As it stands now, there is not a single candidate from either party worth a ton of shit. Hillary is a fucking joke who was more concerned with her political future than telling Bill to get lost and divorce his ass. Trump is an arrogant asshole with delusions of god hood who lost all credibility when he supported the birther movement.

What this country needs is an old school politician. Not some jack ass with the worst hair piece on the planet or some Ivy League bitch.
