What if Politicians had to wear logos like NASCAR drivers do?

Catchy thought

thats cute and quite meaningless.
Just like the abortion that came out of the scotus brushaber the real issue is the corporations are people decision by our bought and sold legislatures and courts.

I agree that if it passed it probably wouldn't stand in the court system if that is what you mean real. I still think it is a nice thought. YOu ever wonder who the top donators to your politicians are? At least now they would be paid for advertising space. LOL just like NASCAR LOL

I think the best campaign finace law would be full early disclosure.
That is any donation to any politician in any form must be posted on the net a week before it can be spent, or borrowed against (food would be exempt from the time requirement, but not from the posting requirement).

That might be nice, But the problem I have with it is that when I try to access their websites, you have to agree with them (in most cases) to be able to see what is on their web site. Just let me see it and don't make me either agree and/or sign up for their propoganda.

One example that wants me to join before I can see what she has to say. https://www.hillaryclinton.com/signup/om-hvf-join/?utm_medium=om2016&utm_source=yb&utm_campaign=lb-branded&utm_content=9319356219&utm_term=c

Of course it would have to be posted where everyone could get to it. Perhaps a common site where all candidates and their suppport are posted. It would have to be posted so that you could narow it down easily, searchs by state candidate and district for example.

KenDckey -> RE: California is Not For Sale (11/29/2015 5:15:25 AM)

That would work

The basic plan was proposed and totally ignored during the Clinton administration. I remember who proposed it but don't want to deteriorate into snark about the person. I am not a big fan and think this is the best idea he ever had.

An anthropologist, Leigh Richmond, once said that when you get a meme out to 10% of the population; it will rapidly become ubiquitous.

I think we have hit the tipping point on the "dress the politicians like NASCAR" so you know who bought them that first surfaced during the Carter administration.

Termyn8or -> RE: California is Not For Sale (11/29/2015 12:07:13 PM)

I do believe there is a website where you can get information on who bribes whom, but it is hard to navigate. Someone threw me a link to it a while back and I went there. While I am sure the info is there, it is not arranged in an easy to access way. Perhaps there is no way to make it easy, like a few other things. How would you do it ?

I thought about that and thought, good fucking question.

It would have to be arrainged better, any competant programmer should be able to do it in about a week. See my earlier post.
