A little while back, we were talking about his success rate here. Some success but not terribly good. Rather average. The problem was he was making some very common mistakes in online dating.

(Really, Gentlemen. If you have a female friend, ask them for tips on your pictures and profile.)

The first thing we did was change his pictures about. Face shot, primary photo. If a person can't do a face shot, there are ways to get around this. Creativity is an asset. This guy has nice blond locks, beautiful eyes, and a wonderful smile. Awesome!

Next. Guy owns his own business and does well in system contracts. Dude looks damn fine in a suit but he didn't have a suit pic on his profile! So many advantages to this! Shows good taste. Shows his body frame. Tie straight, shirt pressed, suit from the cleaners - shows attention to detail. Also conveys business success.

Well traveled. A vacation shot from one of his trips.

Athletic. We got him a great shot of him punching the heavy bag. He's medium build but the muscle tone in that shot was impressive.

Animal/pet lover. Very cute cat. Chicks like it when you take care of your pets.

One kink shot.

Changed his text a bit. Removed the negativity. Only a few lines but such and improvement.

Guess what? Less than a month. Dating.

As I pointed out to a few people: Your advertising needs to appeal to your target audience, not to what you think your target audience should accept.

A laundry detergent can advertise that it's purple because they think that what is important, while the people actually buying the product what to know if gets clothes clean. The laundry detergent won't sell because it's missing it's target with it's potential customer.

Suit and all sounds nice but I'm not trying to impress anyone with my success. It draws the wrong type of person that's why I'm so negative towards findommes for example. I worked hard to get where I am and it seems that what I have is more important to women than who I am. I've proven that point by buying a shitty sail boat and pretending I'm living on it for a year. Changed to standard local formal wear (flip flops shorts and a T-shirt) ditched the tag and ray bans for cornerstore shades and a bracelet. Guess what? I still got laid but none of them were as eager to get in a relationship. I was still the same person. It was always fun to see their reaction when I ran into them a few months later. Some even tried to wiggle their way back in. A very interesting social experiment I must say and it was a huge eye opener.

Odd thing about cheap sunglasses. I seem to hold onto them forever. Shell out money for an expensive pair and they are misplaced in no time.

Let's try something else...

If face shots are bad for you, have a look at some of the profiles of submissive men how they cleverly hide their face. Lots of ways to do this. Over-sized hats, camera angles, and that kind of thing. (I would give specific examples but can't due to forum guidelines.)

If you like outdoor activities, a shot of you playing a sport from a distance is good. We've had some guys with rock climbing shots, horse riding, and various other things.

Beaches, tourist attractions, zoos, and that kind of thing.

There's a link around here somewhere that was a published resource by OKCupid. The fact is you are male, with a ratio of genders that is not in your favor, and you want to catch somebody's (positive) attention. Due to women being bombarded by profiles all of the time, those first few seconds matter. That means your photo and your first paragraph of profile text has to stand out in a good way.

On a site like this, you are selling a product. YOU. I have a sneaking suspicion that you can do it.

I was looking for someone semi local. After weeding out what I'm sure is not a match I was left with inactive profiles. I can't really commit to anything long distance at the time because I simply don't have the time to travel at the moment. That's why I decided to look around in the forum. I put the search on the back burner for now I'm not in a rush but thanks for the pointers I'll have to apply them when I resume my search.

Check your local area for BDSM munches. Go and just say hello and meet some people in your area. I have found a lot more people via in person networking versus online.
