Actually, I know nothing about such tactics, as previously mentioned. [:)]

That explains your question. It just doesn't happen that way at all.

http://www.spencerhoglund.com/worldrecords.html

Interesting website on firing 1800 style (not necessarily period) weapons. Revolving cylinder pistols (loaded at 5 rounds each - used 2 of them), Lever action rifles loaded at 10 rounds, and double barrel shotguns that start out empty. 24 rounds, 24 targets, all rounds must hit in this competition. 24 accurate rounds in as little as 13.16 seconds. These are world record holders so most of us would require a lot of practice to be that good. But is interesting that you can kill 24 people that quickly using older style weapons.

So does it happen often, then, that an armed civilian takes down a bad guy who's started shooting? It's just that I've just read on Facebook some comment that claims it hasn't happened at all, in the last three decades. Surely that can't be correct?

LMAO hypocrite

Oh, I don't know that I'd call tj a hypocrite...misguided maybe. Mistaken in the assumption that this was workplace viilence? Most assuredly.

me misguided??? if people on a terrorist watch list are prohibited from flying they should also be prohibited from owning and using firearms.. its just common sense..

You dont seem to understand what I was saying.. I think something happened at the party to tick off the male and triggered him to attack his co-workers that day.. I think its very conceivable that they had a different target & date originally planned (due to the bombs they made), some big event similar to what the marathon bombers did.. I think they were looking to kill/harm more people than they did..

And if that were true, tj...then why the message of support to ISIS on Facebook? I'm not saying that they didn't have another target in mind later but it seems strange that two radicalized Muslims would suddenly give up their lives for a minor provocation.

so in todays newspapers an article says the FBI think that they had planned a different much bigger target/event due to partially completed bombs they found.. so, as I said, if they hadnt decided to attack the party/event that day it could have been much worse.. i wonder if the FBI will figure out what their planned target was.. Apparently, 2 years or so (before his wife came along) he had talked with another nutbar neighbor on planning an attack.. According to the FBI, the neighbor had bought 2 of the guns they used in the attack & gave it to them.. he hasnt been charged or arrested (so far).. you can bet his name is going on the terrorist watch list tho.. I wonder if he should still have the right to buy (more) guns??? hmmmm....

Straw purches are a crime, conspiracy to commit a terrorist act is a crime, they will keep him from buying guns in the prison store.

Yes it does, however it doesn't get a lot of coverage for two easons.
One low body count, in the week after the terror attack in Pa there were two cases that actually got covered. Total dead two, the attackers.
Two it doesn't fit the narative that guns are only used for evil.
Studies show that in these cases the body count is only a third as high with armed resistance as without it. Again this doesn't get much coverage because it doesn't fit the narrative.

knew that the weapon used was STOLEN
A new incident but related.
Two days ago a cop in Philadelphia was ambushed.
The attacker sreamed that he did it for Islam.
From this the new mayor has determined that religion (even the twisted form of Islam followed by Isis) has nothing to do with the attack.
He also stated that we have to get guns off the street.
This even though he knew that the weapon used was STOLEN, from a cop no less.
A total disconnect from reality to common in dealing with terrorists.

Phydeaux -> RE: Shooting in California (1/10/2016 10:41:17 PM)

I've been posting a muslm terrorist story pretty much every day, on facebook.

But some people seem to want to ignore this sort of thing and the absolute ignorance some of our "leaders" show in dealing with it.
Of course we are always told that we shouldn't be upset over Radical Islam because of the inquisotion.
And not understanding the difference between Islam and radical Islam we get a lecture on our presumed Islamaphobia.
