Not really, old testament is recognised as part of Islam, so even if it's disguised as the Quran. Muslims acknowledge everything in the old testament as the truth. They just don't agree with the New testament.
So everything they read to people about it is Islam anyway.
Muhammed knew the old testament very well, where do people think he actually got his inspiration for what's in the Quran from?

It's entirely possible that they don't even know everything in the Koran, never mind believe it all to be the truth. After all, Christians don't always know everything in the Bible, never mind believe that it's all true.

Not really, old testament is recognised as part of Islam,

...and part of Christianity, including actually being IN the Bible, unlike the Koran.

Perhaps you're suggested we should start profiling Christians too.

Way to miss the point.

Just because they haven't read a portion of the Koran doesn't mean they don't believe that if it is in there it is true.

...and the same could be said for the Bible.

Again, way to miss the point.

"If they're different, then they can all be lumped into same group. But if they're like me, then of course an extreme minority doesn't represent the group"

Honestly, these mental gymnastics the cons do to themselves is both frustrating, ridiculous and also somewhat impressive.

I wonder what the Pope himself thinks about some of the passages and underlying messages in the testaments...I would love to hear what he has to say if confronted with them in a public forum.

I don't know Tom... he has been outspoken on his personal views that do not set well with the conservative group of Cardinals... He does seem to stand for change in the church... I'll bet he would have something to say about some of the outlandish passages in the Bible. I have always had problems with the selective way of deciphering the Bible by the Church and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. An explanation that makes sense would go a long way in bringing me back.
