$12 dollars a pair outrageous are they made of gold or come with 13$ worth of cake.

The physicists' question is: "Why are quantum mechanical effects like wave-particle duality, probability wave theory and tunneling effects not seen in the macroscopic world?" The philosophers' question is: "Where do all the odd socks go?"

Clearly spontaneous creation and destruction of socks inside a washing machine would violate all conservation laws, especially sock parity, and the conversion of the mass of the sock into energy would most certainly play havoc with a low temp wash.
Theory 1: tunnelling. If socks disappear and/or appear without being destroyed or created.
Explanation Tunnelling states more or less that’s its possible for matter to instantaneously transport from one place in the universe to another. Construction will commence soon on a gigantic washing machine, much like sliders (TV prog) hmm who was that babe in that series again grrrr
Theory 2 Multiple tunnelling Probability. The probability wave collapses and you have a sock inside a different sock
(For the doubters pop a marked sock in a washing machine and wash it till it disappears, then search all the washing machines in the universe)
Theory 3: They power washing machines
Theory 4: Socks are antisocial creature; Therefore socks of the same colour and design have feeling of loathing towards each other and it nigh impossible to pair them
Theory 5: Quantum theory exclusion principle. Tis impossible for 2 socks to occupy the same place and time in the universe e.g. one must cease to be…or the universe implodes or something
Theory 6: Universal reduction theory: states basically matter is temporary and whens its used for is attributed to the life span of the material. So when a life span of an object is up it must cease to be. E.g. average life span of a left sock is 2 weeks, while that of a right sock can be up to thirty weeks.
Theory 7: they reproduce in the wash
Theory 8: Space Time lines. As each sock passes around the appliance in a different space time line, only one sock is permitted under general relativity, to return to the observes frame of reference
Theory 9: Wave-sock duality. The harder you look for a sock the harder it is to find

edit as I forgot to answer ops question
Since the beginning time/creation etc
