AlaskanLabrador -> What pathway /tradition if any do you subsribe to and what attracted you to it? (12/23/2015 12:35:30 PM)

There are a number of traditions all with widely differing beliefs and conflicting debates among practitioners concerning origins.
Code de Obalisque,
Gorean,
Old Guard, and several others also. A quick Google shows much conflicting opinion among each traditions practitioners about the origins.
The number of diverse traditions gives BDSM a broad church appeal. So again what is you're pathway and have you practiced more than one tradition?

I have always just kind of felt my way along. I never really bothered with anyone else's protocols (although I have incorporated a few into my practice.).

I'm going to make some enemies, here (but what the fuck else is new?): I think that's the mark of a dominant; they don't follow someone else's ideal. They live out their own ideal.

I'm something of a Leather/BDSM split. That's Het Leather, which isn't necessarily Old Guard.

For Leather, you are going to find some conflicting information. Many regions have things that others don't, often due to geographical location and climates. The best resource on it is LA&M (Leather Archives & Museum) based in Chicago, IL. Various regions, leather organizations, and pansexual orientations have contributed to it.

I'm curious to hear how this meshes with your religious faith?

I'm genuinely curious about how you reconcile those things too. On the one hand it's only plain realism and good sense to imagine the outside of your pond from time to time and acknowledge there's always a bigger fish. For some that's God, and I'm sure there have been immensely powerful people throughout history who bend a knee to a higher power.

Jsut a few stray thoughts there. Interested in your take DS.

I'll answer you, but I may need some clarification:

Are you questioning my faith or are you inquiring as to how D/s (I'm not a practitioner of BDSM) fits into my faith?

I don't think so. Rather, what you mean when you say you don't follow another's ideals but live by your own.
I think most bibles (regardless of what religion) would be chock full of other people's ideals. If not God's himself. To be guided by a bible is to follow its ideals is it not?
That's the reconciliation I was wondering about.

DaddySatyr -> RE: What pathway /tradition if any do you subsribe to and what attracted you to it? (12/24/2015 6:23:02 AM)

I understand, now. I will kind of dodge the question because I think getting into religion/spirituality in this section might not be "kosher". However; I will give you this much of an answer:

I took the question to be along the lines of: "Do you practice Gor?" "Are you Old Guard?". That kind of thing.

As far as the Bible goes; I think that parts of it are a great guide for living a happy and (spiritually) healthy life, but I do not look to it as the last word on too many things. Therefore, there's nothing to reconcile, vìs-à-vìs your specific question.

Of course I do recognize and even incorporate some ideals (those with which I agree) as I typed, in my original post:

quote:

ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr

I have always just kind of felt my way along. I never really bothered with anyone else's protocols (although I have incorporated a few into my practice.). ...

Then again; that's pretty much how my spirituality has evolved, also.

Allow me to re-iterate: Because of the section in which this was found, I was answering in relation to my practice of D/s (which is guided by spiritual principles) as it falls into the secular world.

Good catch. Thanks, Des.

Hope you are feeling better. I think I channeled you yesterday. My kitchen looks like a bakery exploded out there.

WickedsDesire -> RE: What pathway /tradition if any do you subsribe to and what attracted you to it? (12/25/2015 8:48:07 AM)

I was not being overly harsh eg DocStrange got it straightaway too, hence my reply was worded as it was and I should have charged Op for even that that’s despite my CFS and the impacts of 100s wasted clicks and reads on all sites.

Wayward5oul My words are just fine. Many people understand them. I am sorry you do not. That particular sock is getting on my nerves lately.
Philosophical debates can rage regarding whether a question is valid. I look at who is asking the question, in conjunction with the question they are asking. And yes ive been banned off that other sites forums, here and there, for stating the OP is a guy, pretending he is a women, house of cards 100s of friends, picture likes and comments…where they do nothing but allude to it being them and not one correction… now, how many genuine peoples time has he cost, suckered in? Do you think that is fair?

But it’s been stated to me not my problem the question is valid. Whyso I have asked backed and usually get banned about there. Or your words are gibberish (aka too complex, subtle, allegorical, truisms and for I am (some) moderator who is a; liar cheat weasel, bad stereotype, do sod all about fakes and the genuine lives they ruin, ban thee.
Wayward I have revisited my words regarding that particular OP and feel I have no need to change or correct them
If there are any aspects of them you do not understand you can mail me privately

Note 1 socks words were about origins
Note 2 remnant of time has a plethora of meanings. Origin being its primary
Note 3 Carl Sagan used we are star dust I use remnant of time which also translates too Supernova remnant
Note 4 am glad you sided with Op and offered no correction apology.
Note 5 When I am wrong, and that does happen I come back and publicly eat humble pie no matter the site

I had a bit of time....and its Christmas day

What I think should have happened
The user deleted till he behaves most of the time...he may be honest and genuine I really do not know
The thread deleted as its origins were not valid.
Not well that user is king socky and it asks a valid question...now that's where the philosophical debate comes in..and it can easily be extrapolated to stolen picture brigade, pants on fire lot and so on..eg say I was married (omitted that fact everywhere) and started a thread whose sole purpose is me looking for attention, profile views mails.....how do I get my hole..would that thread be valid, or question?

I am not here to write you a book or sit in judgement of the world or grey areas. I draw the line at people who think nothing at all of wasting genuine peoples time

I don't practice a tradition. I just go with the flow and do what works for me, not worrying about rules or traditions.
