Merry Christmas!

instead of being a partisan turnip, why not share some decent christmas music...
try the "2 cellos", or the "Piano guys."

Piano guys, "Carol of the bells"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9GtPX6c_kg

Or Pentatonix Dance of the sugar plum fairy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jt3oAyK_IG8&list=PL1hsObW78OZHyDYiQnlgIq3FUBxklTbRc

Not Christmas but still amazing, and thunderstruck has ALWAYs been a holiday song for me:)

Haha! The choir singing those songs were actually decent too!

These are my favourite Christmas Songs, don't really celebrate Christmas but love the music especially when Mariah does vocal acrobatics with them!

Mariah Carey and Mom Patricia - Oh Come All Ye Faithful

Mariah Carey - Oh Holy Night

I really hate crimbo at the best of times.

But if there were just ONE thing I could ban would be all the usual crimbo songs and music that I've heard umpteen zillion different versions of since early childhood would really make my xmas.
The tunes just drive me nuts every time I hear them.
Even more so when sung by choirs - I hunker down and cringe with fingers in my ears.
I can barely tolerate the Ho Ho friggin' Ho and the damned commercialism of it all.

This is my idea of the best crimbo song out there [not for kids].

hah thats my husbands favourite christmas song too FD.
He looks just like your typical father christmas...fullwhite beard, white hair...is skinny, and has the grinch and scrooge perfectly merged:)
love him.

I am with you on that FD and a lot of those songs don't even make any sense in Australia when they chant about snow, snowmen, frost, sleigh-rides etc. It's 30 fucking degrees out there !!!!!
I keep threatening to get a line T-Shirts printed one of these years with "XMAS ? BAH ! HUMBUG" printed on them and my second xmas line would be a lot of little santa clauses with stakes of holly driven though their hearts or up their asses. I am damn sure they would sell like hotcakes.
One of these years I will have to read 'Á Christmas Carol' right through. I always put it down just after the enjoyable part where he tells the two moochers who come to his office asking for charity, to fuck off.

Dvr, I have to admit the disconnect with the traditional carols as well.

Fuck snow.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:14:59 PM)

Hear Hear JVoV.................my slave wants to spend next Xmas in U.K........................I have agreed that she can. I'll meet her in Singapore on her return journey !!!!

JVoV -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:19:59 PM)

I'm happy here in Florida. 86°F today.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:23:05 PM)

a little warmer here JVoV but I was born and dragged up in U.K. so I learned to LOATHE the cold and went to sea asap and spent as much of my time at sea on or around the equator !! I like the heat and the summers here. There are people here who have never seen snow or frost. I often wish I was one of them *smile*.

Lucylastic -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:26:19 PM)

In toronto today, I was sitting outside in my shorts n tshirt, it was 15 here...sposedly the hottest christmas eve in 175 years.
I just got thru cooking and I had to sit outside with my hand mixer n bowl cos it was too hot in the kitchen.
sugar plums n fairies dance in my head(the sangria is strong)
Merry CHristmas Everyone!!

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:27:50 PM)

Bah Humbug !!!...............Have a good Christmas Lucy *smile*

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:29:32 PM)

We had breakfast on the beach and watched the people taking their exercise and walking their dogs. Very pleasant

Lucylastic -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:38:25 PM)

Love snow, love the cold....I remember some lovely snowy christmases in the UK, but that damn damp cold is ugh. My daughter spent her first christmas in nottingham last year, I had warned her about the damp, she certainly felt it.. I would like it colder...

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:43:20 PM)

I lived in a village in Bucks and got caught in U.K. one year. On Christmas day they have a foot ball match there on the village green (which slopes at a horrific angle) and anybody can join in and join whatever side they desire. Basically it's a re-run of the battle of Bull Run but with a football instead of guns. There were six pubs and one hospital in the village and all did a roaring trade on Christmas afternoon.

JVoV -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 4:44:00 PM)

I just finished dinner with my mom. Pretty sure I made the best lasagna of all-time.

We'll be heading to my cousin's soon, to give presents to his asshole children, and to my other cousin's sweet, adorable princess.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/24/2015 5:01:03 PM)

We are just settling down to watch Blackadders Christmas Carol........................my kind of guy !!! *smile*

MrRodgers -> RE: Some songs for the Holiday Season (12/26/2015 11:21:07 AM)

Jingle Bell Rock. I know, the ubiquitous Jingle Bell Rock so much so, that I know of those that get...sick of it. But the song is THE song of Christmas for me because we danced to it in the 2nd grade in the Christmas play and my partner was my all time babydoll. A cross between Shirley Temple and Natalie Wood. Moved away at 13 some short 6 years later.

Whereupon visiting as a young adult, found her the Home Coming Queen going with the star QB. Good guy though. I will NEVER regret ever hearing that song because of those memories.
