Nice monologue on Pale Ales - notably written by an American. However, a lot of good decent beers are not pale ales at all but more the darker, slightly sweeter ales. And, as the article clearly states, it is the water that is specifically around the Burton area that makes the ales so good, is something you cannot duplicate elsewhere, not even in the UK. And that is why decent good ales aren't available in the US or anywhere else in the world - at least not to the standard that we enjoy here. What you call 'good' is no more than second-rate to us. They are certainly better than the usual brown muck served in the US, but still second-rate.
