December my CS mailbox was full with guys wanting to do blackmail, seriously not into it and with a stranger, hell no, last thing I fancy is having to explain things to the cops or finding myself in court. Come the New Year and all of a sudden it seems every adult baby out there is contacting me, again not my kink (as in really really NOT). I'm not on about how people don't really read profiles and such, just that there seems to be a really weird thing going that one kink just gets super popular all of a sudden, like a bunch of the guys have a collective mind that says "Let's find this kink hot NOW and email a ton of females with it, no matter if they are interested or not, this is the flavour of the month"

As you know, I really don't read my emails here anymore unless it is someone that I know or I know someone in common with them. In that respect, I couldn't possibly say. However, I do know that some activity flows from other sites or when certain sites shut down can cause the cycles you might be seeing. There was a big thing about Fet a while ago about what was becoming known as The Big Four. These were four particular fetishes that VISA said they would no longer conduct business with Fet/process transactions if those particular four things remained on the site. A very big deal when you consider how many people 'support' Fet by paying for extra privileges and losing VISA would have put a serious hurt on that. (This was some time ago, so it's not the current contributor to the phenomenon.) The blackmail one, I honestly don't know if there is a contributing factor. I thought I read just recently that one of the popular AB/DL sites is no longer running, so there might be an influx from that. Kind of like there was a surge here when you folks lost Informed Consent and there were more folks showing up from the UK. I still think that was sad for those of you across the pond because many people said good things about it.

I hadn't thought about maybe sites closing down, I was just always puzzled that if you got one particular fetish (especially if it's not one of yours) and all of a sudden there is a flood of them, it always seemed like a fashion trend from out of nowhere

I've always seen CM and Fet as kind of catch all sites. I'm actually not on any of the ones that are kink specific, such as AB/DL sites, for example. (Not one of my kinks, I'm just picking that out of the air.) Over here, I'd also say that is a growing trend in and of itself. Also, it can be a very hard kink to match up. Mommies, Daddies, Babysitters, etc don't seem to be especially easy for the ABs to find. Specific niche and all of that. Maybe it's the same thing with the blackmail, though as much as I hear about wallet rapers and so on, you wouldn't think that would be as tough.

I tend to think the holiday season leads to a lot of people with free time on their hands. Also given the fact that the dreaded IN-Laws are visiting. Many seek escape in any form they can during that time LOL.

Yeah, this last weekend is historically the busiest one of the year for online dating, specifically the Sunday before everyone returns to work after New Years. Apparently between looking back at regrets from the previous year, and Valentine's Day being the next big celebrated holiday, is all the encouragement that most people need to jump in the ring and do that which they always wanted. Good time for people to decide to explore the desires in this as well.

Oh you women are slow at times.
