ORIGINAL: LadyConstanze Her politics are a bit like Cams, ... for LC and NG[;)] not quite but close - but there is a perfect Cameron's-best-pal and mirror image: "unser Horst" Seehofer. Cameron was just on the news visiting in Kreuth ... for those who are unfamiliar with that one: Bavarian prime minister - a text-book example of a politician turning with the wind In all fairness, Blnymph, Cameron doesn't change his politics to suit the occasion but he certainly does change his demeanour according to the person with whom he is speaking; moreover, according to perceived rank in world status. In terms of his politics, he's a died-in-the-wool English conservative, which means in the modern world a free-market advocate and socially conservative. That won't change. He's from a background that will promote those things whatever the weather. I agree with him on his economic politics, but disagree with him on his social politics; and I can't see how you can be a liberal, economically, and be a conservative socially. Doesn't make sense to me. Liberalism is a mind-set, something that is within your nature, and as such it follows all of your politics will be directed by said liberal principles - which to me mean tolerance, being fair, competition, being open, and when push comes to shove putting judgement aside to help someone.
