ORIGINAL: Earlofderby Why are we being persecuted continuously by being subjected to attacks by sock puppets? Why do collarspace management not devise a system to ban them from the boards. We are constantly being interrupted from our enjoyment of breaking TOS so we can insult and bully O.P.s who write threads we do not like. If they complain we report them and label them socks. The Moderators are useless they do not help us and they allow socks to proliferate. We cannot allow threads on the boards that we have not vetted and approved of first. We are entitled to bully and falsely report those we call socks it's our sport. Come on support and moderators lend us a hand? You break TOS and we break TOS but we cannot let the socks break TOS. Please hear our plea and join us in victimisation? Ya know, I'd have to think that any individual human would have to get sick from the constant state of sewage that a person might spit. I have posted before on how people learn to lie as a stage of early childhood development, and when you dig into it, being dishonest usually stems from folks wanting to avoid a negative consequence, and/or hoping to get an advantage in some way. This is not the same mental health issue(s) as say, pathological liars, those who can not distinguish reality from the fantasy that they choose to believe, and other various disorders. Most people who are not mentally unstable can engage in what is known as aversion therapy and/or simply learning to combat dishonesty by having the offender go back and tell the truth to those they have lied to or about. The process to do this is rather simple. You task the client for thirty days or so to take an approach with their interactions with others where, if they have lied to someone, they must go back to the person, admit their deception, and apologize for the transgression. The point of doing this is for the client to recognize that there are greater consequences for having lied in the first place than what they would experience if they had just told the truth. Hypothetical example. Most people have lied to their boss about why they were really late for work. More often than not, they will say it was due to traffic or some vehicle accident on the road. They won't cop to stuff like forgetting to set their alarm, they were out late the night before and overslept, or things of that nature. More people will tell you that they were dealing with a sick child at home, rather than they just called off to have a fun day. It's really effective for most people. When it's not, you start looking for what other mental health challenges they have. quote:
Why do collarspace management not devise a system to ban them from the boards. I've talked to several people about this because I happen to think that anyone reading the forums can spot the sock puppet posts at least ninety percent of the time. Would it require some work and time investment? Yes. That's called being dedicated to the job they promised to do. It wouldn't require banning IP addresses or anything like that. Just watch for the trends. The patterns are there. quote:
We are constantly being interrupted from our enjoyment of breaking TOS so we can insult and bully O.P.s who write threads we do not like. Bullshit. Allow me to be perfectly clear. Any person who had their main screen name put under moderation and creates another screen name to post to the forums is CIRCUMVENTING moderation. More often than not, that makes them a scum bucket. Look at how many of us got banned under Mod3 and didn't resort to such tactics? A number of us where moderated under the guise of Mod3 for PERSONAL reasons and didn't feel the need to create alternative accounts. If a person can't hold that same ethical standard, don't blame me. It's no better than being bounced out of a local group for a consent violation and going back when people don't know you're slimy. Kind of like that dude who signed up to Fet as a "greeter" and then got bounced from the position because he was harassing women. Care to comment on that?
