Well, I'm either going to help you out a bit or screw this thread up in all kinds of ways.
Do you remember me telling you a while back that I don't always follow the links that you provide in posts because some of them are time wasted? I did give you a shot this time and I did read the link. (At least it wasn't one of those damn youtube videos where people are screaming to acid rock type music, so there was that.) It's basically an opinion piece with very little meat to it, so not the best.
To me, some of this was better than the original.

I know in this country, this one tends to get used specifically in regard to breast cancer while at the same time ignoring things like the fact of how much research goes into areas like heart disease which plagues more men than women. I'm really not big on begrudging any health issues money for research. There's not enough money for medical research to go around, even though most of us would cut other things and try to funnel money into it.

This one is specifically one of the reasons I wanted to comment on the thread. I think you are partially correct but you also have to look at the whole picture. It can be very hard for a male to get into a safehouse/shelter but that has to do with a lot of different things. One being that more often, men do not lose their earning power/financial resources if they must leave their home immediately. Where this tends to be less true are in the gay and trans* community and that can make things even harder. I'm sorry that I don't have stats for you on this one but since men's rights is a passion of yours, it might interest you to do some reading as it relates to the non-het community.

Traditionally, unless there is some reason where a mother may not be seen as the better choice for primary custody, it does often go this way. However, I think it's also important to look at which parent takes the hit for time lost from work due to a child's illness and similar areas.

On this one, I'm not going to give anything. Until such time as men can become an incubator for nine months, I consider abortion to be the woman's right to choose. In the reverse, men have the choice of wearing a condom if they do not want off-spring. Men have way more control in their reproductive choices unless you are talking about cases of sexual assault. There are cases where condoms fail but we're not talking about a huge percentage there. I don't think there are that many adult men out there who don't understand what causes pregnancy.

This one you get. There is a bad societal preconceived notion that het males are automatically physically stronger than their partners, and to some people, they think that means men can't be on the receiving end of domestic violence. (We tend to do the same thing in our kink communities because we see the Dominant party as the person in control so people think that *can't* happen.) This is wrong, wrong, wrong. Males under-report in areas such as stalking, harassment, and outright physical abuse because the concern of not being taken seriously is very real. We need better education in law enforcement about this and we also need a mind shift when it comes to family, friends, and co-workers.

Absolutely willing to give you this one, too. There are still too many people out there who think that men can not be raped unless it's by Bubba in a jail cell. This is completely not the case and to be quite honest, I think more people could benefit by reading what constitutes the legal definition of rape. There are still people out there that don't understand that being penetrated anally with a foreign object without consent falls under the definition of rape and the fact that people don't know it means that we need better education. I was just reading a writing on the other site yesterday that the "every guy wants it" myth still exists and frankly, I think that attitude sucks.

You know, usually, when you do these threads, you say "don't make the thread about me" but I want to give you just a little advice. When people view you as an extremist, you look just as bad to other people as the way your opponents generally look to you. That means that the times you are right can get lost. Some of the stuff you present ends up coming out as little more than white noise and I don't think that helps in the goal that you want to achieve. You want people to listen to you, right? I just think it's something you might want to consider.
