IMO
If companies are given the right to donate to politicians, then people should be allowed to vote with their dollar and choose to work or not work for companies based on politics

Bribery is a non partisan, as Monsanto and Halliburton demonstrated

Are people assigned jobs in PROM? People do have the right not to work for companies they don't aprove of.

The whole point of my last post was to allow workers to make informed decisions. Alabama education lives up to it's reputation

And my point was that they do. Yours implied that they didn't so naturally I had to assume that it was different in PROM than in the rest of the county.

BTW all of my public school time and most of my college was in the Midwest.
So your snark only accoplished displaying the well known air of supeiority of New Englanders.

Voting is private, and citizens, not corporations, should have anonyminity. Donating personal money does not take money from others, and therefore should be private. If companies are able to donate without anyone knowing, how will investors know that their money is not being used to fund those they do not believe in?

um, they go to shareholder's meetings, read the companies reports and ask questions?

How can a decision be made without information. Call the kettle black. How many times have you mentioned PRoM? Don't pretend to have not drawn the line in be sand repeatedly. So answer me again, how can someone make economic decisions based on information not available to the public?

Isn't it strange when liberals talk about the evils of corporations donating to a political party, they never seem to mention the unions who steal money from their members and ALWAYS donate to democrats. If liberals were honest (yea, that'll never happen) with themselves, they would be just as angry at the unions as they are corporations.

bounty44 -> RE: Free Speech or Contracting Speech (1/24/2016 7:23:18 AM)

that's insightful and i agree, except for that remember, corporations are all about profits, are greedy and yes, therefore evil, while the collectivism of the unions and their being in bed with democratic politicians is for the common good.

this is another illustration of the differences in the values/methods between liberals and others. the former seem to want the government to do for us; the latter would rather be responsible for ourselves.

The people's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyred dead,
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts' blood dyed its ev'ry fold.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.

Look 'round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung
Chicago swells the surging throng.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.

It waved above our infant might,
When all ahead seemed dark as night;
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We must not change its colour now.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.

It well recalls the triumphs past,
It gives the hope of peace at last;
The banner bright, the symbol plain,
Of human right and human gain.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.

It suits today the weak and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place
To cringe before the rich man's frown,
And haul the sacred emblem down.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.

With heads uncovered swear we all
To bear it onward till we fall;
Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.

I believe all institutions, corporate, union, educational, financial etc have to disclose donation money. I believe individuals donating money should be able to remain anonymous if they wish to

Both Republicans and Demoncrats are guilty of taking money to influence politics and all institutions influencing politics should be exposed. It's not even that they should not do it, it should just be public knowledge if they do

mnottertail -> RE: Free Speech or Contracting Speech (1/25/2016 1:16:05 PM)

I dont think that entities have to disclose dark money contributions.
