1. The home front: So many people die annually from gunfire in the US that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 eclipses all wars ever fought by the country. According to research by Politifact, there were about 1.4 million firearm deaths in that period, compared with 1.2 million US deaths in every conflict from the War of Independence to Iraq. Just deaths mind.
I could go on a cite wiki stats - I wept the first time I looked at them and made my first reply to a guns thread where some clown rambled incoherent nonsense. And I enquired many things eg why he needed so many guns if he had but two hands and wondered why he thought people killed people not the actual gun. And if was true if I could purchase a bazookah, sherman tank 4 pack muffins at his local store and a mace so I could reprogram him, rigorously vigorously.
Where gun ownership is more readily accessible, easy to get etc then Death rates are higher last time I checked 40 fold higher than in the UK..true sameish legal system.. I like when someone cites the second amendment, fails to mention the patriot act spying on everyone - a rampant paranoia that surpassed the Soviets of old and that awful book War and Peace not that I got past page 60 on account of my brain leaving my head at the hurryup and in the manner known as violent.
More than one link is an investment of my time...I pretty much think none on here, or any other thread, anywhere, will change their minds-saves those who unfortunately experience it first hand.
