Three men injured in drive-by shooting

Three men have been injured in a drive-by shooting. They were hit by shots fired from a blue or black Volvo-type car in Elm Park Road, Reading, Berkshire, on Friday night, Thames Valley Police said.

The incident follows the fatal shooting of a man in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, and the death of jeweller Marian Bates, who was shot at point blank range by robbers at her shop in Nottingham earlier this week.

DominantWrestler -> RE: Three men injured in drive-by shooting (1/22/2016 6:45:31 AM)

Lol, depending on year, we average approximately 3 to 4 times the homicide rate they have. Additionally, they only have about 2-3% of the homicide per capita rate by firearms we do. What's interesting is that the homicde rate without firearms in England and America is fairly close

Lucylastic -> RE: Three men injured in drive-by shooting (1/22/2016 7:40:03 AM)

I didnt think most americans were stupid enough to think that murder or gun violence doesnt happen anywhere else.

This is a normal, typical day in Baltimore.

Rather than start a new thread I suppose it's worth mentioning there was a school shooting in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The latest updates have the casualties at 5 dead and 2 injured.

Our gubblemint and legal system is a brit model and its a monumental failure of corruption why should should we trust that same corruption to be the only ones with guns?

UK Fiddles Crime Stats: This Isnt the Gun-Free Paradise the Antis Are Looking ForBy Robert Farago on October 27, 2013

She references Inspector Gadget who specifically states;

“They must not, under any circumstances, get out on the street and find any more crime. Not until the next financial year anyway….”

Hathaway goes on to say: “Now attach the idea of bonuses to this. The fakery becomes cash fraud.”

This fact was acknowledged by the Daily Mail in March, 2011. They reported on a “scheme which has enabled most Chief Constables to collect five-figure bonuses of 15% on top of their salaries.” In June, 2013, the Daily Mail further reported that one Chief Constable was paid a “24,000 pound ‘honorarium’ for cutting crime.”

No Mean Citya finer book I have read. But it was a good book I just cannot remember a bloody thing about it due to my ongoing senility, raving lunacy issues and gargantuanion-hmm why is the not a word of my man parts.

No Mean City is a 1935 novel by H. Kingsley Long, a journalist, and Alexander McArthur, an unemployed worker. It is an account of life in the Gorbals, a run-down slum district of Glasgow (now mostly demolished, but re-built in a contemporary style) with the hard men and the razor gangs.

The Warriors Trailer Caaan you dig it - he says in voice of timbre.

Guns kill - end of story - there is no counter argument for their prolific ownership in America and the chaos and plethora (even that word does not do the carnage justice)souls they depart from this mortal coil do you actually believe they can get accurate figures from America regarding Gun death & violence - hmm

But here is curious story that made me laugh and weep. Guns in the US: The statistics behind the violence
Nuggets from the not tall tale
1. The home front: So many people die annually from gunfire in the US that the death toll between 1968 and 2011 eclipses all wars ever fought by the country. According to research by Politifact, there were about 1.4 million firearm deaths in that period, compared with 1.2 million US deaths in every conflict from the War of Independence to Iraq. Just deaths mind.
I could go on a cite wiki stats - I wept the first time I looked at them and made my first reply to a guns thread where some clown rambled incoherent nonsense. And I enquired many things eg why he needed so many guns if he had but two hands and wondered why he thought people killed people not the actual gun. And if was true if I could purchase a bazookah, sherman tank 4 pack muffins at his local store and a mace so I could reprogram him, rigorously vigorously.

Where gun ownership is more readily accessible, easy to get etc then Death rates are higher last time I checked 40 fold higher than in the UK..true sameish legal system.. I like when someone cites the second amendment, fails to mention the patriot act spying on everyone - a rampant paranoia that surpassed the Soviets of old and that awful book War and Peace not that I got past page 60 on account of my brain leaving my head at the hurryup and in the manner known as violent.

More than one link is an investment of my time...I pretty much think none on here, or any other thread, anywhere, will change their minds-saves those who unfortunately experience it first hand.

here is a better link, wicked second favourtie clip of all time who can name his first - or does noone pay attention to his mad rambles? as I find my post depressing, pointless futile, factually accurate and with a few smiles. And some previous, and latter no doubt, points of view invalid and nonsensical, with so many omissions

Annual gun deaths in America perhaps 40 000 per year - I have never been able to glean an accurate figure....→ More than 100,000 people in America are shot in murders, assaults, suicides & suicide attempts, accidents, or by police intervention. 31,537 people die from gun violence: ✓ 11,583 people are murdered. ✓ 18,783 people kill themselves. is surprised you still have a population

I doubt the brits are trying to sell y'all on anything.. they have a different culture than you have.. you were a brit model legal system and govt but that was a long, long time ago.. the UK and US systems are like night and day now.. Have no fear, no one will take your much-loved US model system from you..

The Brits Aussies and Canadians on this forum have been trying to sell us gun control on just about, if not every gun thread. I have little doubt on that. Unfortunately, some Americans have been trying to sell it too.

DominantWrestler -> RE: Three men injured in drive-by shooting (1/24/2016 7:50:49 AM)

Why do the insane, mentally handicapped, or criminals want guns. I like guns, I'm a liberal. My state requires an Firearms Identification card. It took longer to get my drivers license than to get an FID. No one is trying to take away your guns.

It's interesting, assuming you can believe the pro gun site listed here, that means the quota in England to lower perceived crime rates and get bonuses based on quota. In America, we do the same thing, except they want high crime rate quotas so their department can grow. They also take a percentage of confiscated goods and money. That policy produces corruption

This corruption of American police undermines their integrity of police inciting hostility and burdens both our legal and prison system while ruining lives

I can certainly agree with what you said about police corruption but there definitely are those who would take away guns in a heartbeat if they could (including Brits Aussies and Canadians on this forum [8D] ). There are many who would outlaw an entire class of firearms if they could and in places such as California they have outlawed a crap load of specific models of semi automatics.

...

Except for a presidential candidate who said a gun buy-back program was "worth considering".

Except for Georgia legislature who wish to ban "assault" rifles and seize existing ones.

Except for the senators who wish to ban firearms based on cosmetic appearance. Not just once or twice.

As you've obtained an identification card to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights, do you also support requiring an identification card to vote, express one's First Amendment rights, etc?

Did bigfoot have weapons? No he did not.

DominantWrestler -> RE: Three men injured in drive-by shooting (1/24/2016 11:01:38 AM)

The only thing that got to me was the grips. Who need an under barrel grenade launcher or incendiary '50 cal rounds? The only thing that gets to me is the grip definitions. How you grip a gun doesn't change much, unless they are trying to avoid the high powered concealable weapons, like ban on sawed off shotguns
