Who you are...can change over time. Sometimes life altering events happen, even seemingly small ones, and we have to take some time out to get used to how our life has changed.
If it's because you're new to kink and are feeling that you're turning into a monster or someone you don't even know anymore, then take time out to think things over. Are you going too far and need to reign yourself in? Do you need time to make peace with your spiritual/religious beliefs and BDSM?
As far as participating in the message boards at this site is concerned...is it meeting some needs that you have? For entertainment value, for learning new perspectives, or for hanging out with other kinksters...? Or are you talking about the other side of this site, it's chat rooms, mail room, and search feature? It's easy to get overloaded/aggravated, and sometimes it might be a good thing to step away from the keyboard for days at a time (or for weeks) and do other things. If going online at any site has the power to disrupt your life then I'd advise taking a break now and then. Come back when you have the time and patience to deal with all the cr*p.
Personally, I'm in the process of finding myself again and working through some issues. I've made it clear that it's likely going to take me two years. There are other things I can do, like taking my mother shopping and spending quality time with my family and furbabies. I might even take up knitting again after I go through my sewing phase. Life happens. My advice? Find the things that bring you joy and make you glad to be alive...and then everything else will fall into place.
