ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr While the religious argument is a good one, Phydeaux, I think there's an even more salient (and potentially dangerous) point: Every time the groundswell underneath Sanders grows, it alerts me to just how far down "Socialism Road", the "common democrat" has gone. Michael I think though the mitigating factor in the "socialism road" though is that so many of sanders' supporters are young, and essentially have little to no clue about the evils of it. It's interesting how Cold war propaganda influenced your generation. You would have thought certain lessons would have sank in. The lessons of McCarthy, Korea, the Vietnam war, Nixon, the drug wars, Halliburton, the patriot act, and the younger Bush's destabilizing the Middle East. Top this with the continued failure of trickle down theory and deregulation of finacial market which failed to help the economy during the first bush, partially collapsed the economy at the end of the Clinton presidency before finally causing the Great Recession Minimum wage is lower now than during Reagan after inflation, and the number of people making over half a million dollars a year is tremendously higher. Increasing the income tax ceiling comes at the result of trickle down inflation pretty obviously. And people making over $200,000 aren't really struggling. Bernie has a consistent voting record that has anticipated many of our biggest problems years if not decades before hand. Republicans will just continue to sell us to companies and special interest groups just like Clinton will. Bernie has principals. Feel the Bern You'd think that your generation could learn from history. But they are called low information voters - for a reason. Q: What did socialists do for light before candles? A: Lighbulbs How did socialism work out for greece? venezuela? Russia? Why is it that the countries that are doing well threw off the shackles of socialism: Countries like - poland, czech republic, the baltic state, china, ireland, brazil, chile. Why is it that most socialist countries are turning away from socialism and trying to become more competitive. France effectively increased the length of the work week, italy decreased the power of unions; greece is privatizing .. well, everything. Britain is increasing co-pay on its NHS. Sweden has cut its income tax in half. Read man. For example read about the french colony of arcadia. Most republicans - rubio included agree that something must be done to address income inequality. Many of them have plans to address it. But you wouldn't know that - you haven't read any of them. Your minimum wage statistic is a tad misleading - since a lower % of people are covered under it than ever in history, iirc, the number is 1.7%... meh, most of the rest of your your post is boring.
