My theory (it is a theory, working on the mathematics to prove it) is that the creator of the socks is a minion of the evil <insert god of doom and destruction of your choice> and when the number of socks reaches 1332 or 36.4965751878932 or the nearest whole number value, a portal to internet hell will be opened and <insert name of favorite demon> will burst forth upon the unsuspecting cyberverse. Or he/she/it could be trying to out Arpig Arpig.
