The UN denounces the incarceration of Julian Assange - 2/5/2016 4:12:07 PM

The UN work group on human rights has announced its judgement after 16 months of deliberation, argumentation and counter argumentation from all three parties invovled (UK, Sweden and mr Assange) and has declared in it that his incarceration is arbitrary, that there is no grounds for it and as such he must be allowed his basic human rights including the freedom of movement and be given compensation.

The UK FM has announced that "This doesn't change anything" despite his side having actively participated in and acknowledged the the proceedings. If the UN judgement is ignored, which I doubt that it will be, it could lead to a cascading chain of events in which the UK and even the humanitarian starchild Sweden weakens the UN institutions themselves and undermines the respective nations own ability to criticize others for the same type of abuses.

The two miserable women that accused Assange have both withdrawn their accusations and have hinted on pressure as a reason while blaming each other. Yet the chief prosecutor that is heading this case has not accepted the withdrawal of the womens statements as ground for aborting the case. It is clear that without the two main witnesses willingness to partake in any future proceedings in Sweden that the only motivation for this prosecution is an extradition to the United States showing the servile nature of supposedly sovereign nations.

What are your views?

Personally I think that the two women should be jailed, Europe should get their shit together and end their cleint state relationship with the United States and Assange should go get some sun.

He should get out and then go to Russia and hook up with Snowden. They should work together on a new project to expose even more US government chicanery and become an international hit, make alot of money and enjoy life in beautiful Russia. (I am not being sarcastic here, Russia is a great country)

With the protection of the Russian government, even though they might not be able to go to western countries anymore, (why the fuck would they want to ?) they could have an internationally recognized news site and live like Kings.

Boy I bet those two could have one hell of a conversation. But even if that is not desired, if I were Assange, once they open that fucking jail door I would immediately head for Russia.

Say dasvedania to the axis of evil - US, UK and Israel.

Had I the means, I would go right now.

This is the problem... they have no judgement... if they did how come they refuse to condemn and or act on the every major atrocity in the last 30 years?

Assange isn't being detained - he can walk out of the embassy any time he wants.
The fact that he has decided to make that his own prison is his choice.

As for the two ladies concerned in the rape charges in Sweden, one of them is out of statute and the other is still pursuing it.

I heard the statement that Assange made on the balcony (broadcast live) and I also heard the logic behind the UN decision as described by a UN representative who was part of that decision party and I don't agree with it.
The UN document is not legally binding as far as I can tell.
He is a fugitive avoiding official questioning. At present he is not under arrest in Sweden.

What are your views? < From the OP

My views on Assange are little higher than my view of your views.

This halfwit isnt being held against his will, he has taken refuge in a Foreign Embassy. He is wanted for questioning on serious charges in Sweden but choses to stay where he is.

Your views on the two women are mysogynistic and say more about you than I ever could.

The claim that the only thing facing Assange should he return to Sweden is questioning doesn't hold water. Assange has many times offered to submit to questioning in the UK, or in his current abode in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the UK. The Swedish prosecutor, who role in this entire affair is looking increasingly partisan and questionable has declined to question Assange under this arrangement. Obviously there is something more than a mere questioning over dodgy allegations going on here.

Assange holds very real fears of extradition to the US where his case is currently being investigated by a grand jury. One need only look at the sentence handed down to Chelsea Manning, who provided the classified information that Assange distributed to understand Assange's reluctance to place himself and his liberty at risk by travelling to Sweden and making himself vulnerable to extradition to the US.

It's time the UK and Swedish authorities stopped doing the US's dirty work and allow Assange to walk free.

No, if I was mysoginistic I'd torture them and then actually rape them to make them feel what they accused the man off actually feels like.
They are a disgrace to actual victims.

The women involved, the person who took over the case after the first prosecutor threw it out and their network are part of a somewhat conspiratorial segment of Nordic politics. Sweden has allowed for CIA plans to pick up its citizens in the past, it wouldn't hesitate to honeytrap Assange.

Well that's pretty fucked up. You think that Assange has been mistreated because he sought asylum in order to evade justice on one hand, and thing that the two women should simply be jailed?

Well... call me a silly old stickler, but I believe in due process. Sweden has a very effective, and functioning, legal system and the UK is bound by treaty to extradite people who are wanted on suspicion of crimes in Sweden. Assange's case was heard by the UK's Supreme Court, and the legality of the extradition request was upheld.

If the case against him cannot be proved in court (and indeed, at this stage, prosecutors in Sweden may still determine that there is no case to answer), then he'll be set free.

Assange broke his bail, and is attempting to evade justice. Justice being the process through which his innocence or guilt can be determined.

I don't know whether Assange is a rapist (which, I understand is the only outstanding allegation for which he is wanted for questioning) but I do know that the UK has a legal obligation to Sweden to extradite him, and I don't see any evidence that he will receive an unfair hearing.

Of course the UK is under obligations just like Sweden would be under obligations to send him to the US where he would be tortured the way all patriots of that country today are. Whether they are from the left or from the right, whether it's done by destroying their social life and isolating them or by physically abusing them or shooting them. Chelsea Manning and Snowden are just the tip of the iceberg.

Ride the rabbit hole to Aaron Swartz and Barret Brown at the very least.

The women have withdrawn their statements (at least part of them, I'm sure I've read it somewhere). Copies of chat and twitter conversations exist where they blame pressure, each other, rejection and other things as reasons.
The main bitch is a narcissist of the highest calibre.

There's an infamous statement on her blog on how she suggest people should destroy the lives of people they dislike or feel betrayed by.

Well I'm not a misogynist so I wouldn't do that. I'm saying that's where I would go if I was. I just want these two liars jailed.

The statements of the women would be examined in a court of law - where these things should be examined. If their claims are false or if there is reasonable doubt (I'm assuming the Swedish law calls to acquit where there is reasonable doubt) then he'll be acquitted.

The extradition treaty process is binding... now if you're concerned about the judicial system in America, then you should make the appropriate representations there. If there is a law that is unjust, then the law should be changed. But accusing other parties who are simply obeying the law of their land of doing something wrong is a nonsense.

I am not sure about the Swedish extradition laws, but I am certain that if the US issued an extradition request, and there were a genuine threat of torture the request would be denied.

Furthermore, your casual willingness to see the people making the allegations punished without any due process at all suggest to me that you're not really in a strong position when it comes to making assertions about right and wrong.

The whole thing is a Conspiracy and courts of laws are neither objective nor perfect. In Russia a tax lawyer Matesky was abused to Death while awaiting trial and he was taken to trial only to silence his criticism of the government officials that used his very own firm to commit tax avoidance. He literally blew the whistle on his own firm and had to fry for that.
In Sweden a man was accused for over 30 murders and sentenced for several of them, all of which have by now been shown to have no relation to him.
In Norway a whole kindergarden was sued and several male employees imprisoned because the retarded judges, the even more retarded fucking social workers and the public that paniced and built a case around rumors and implanted memories that the social workers drilled into the heads of the young kids. The charge? Satanic abuse.

Fuck the law of the land in this case. It's so obvious that it's a conspiracy, both a grand political one and a personal one. You're willfully ignorant of the World at this Point when I have clearly pointed out the character and statements made by these two lying careerists.
In fact Julian Assange fucked Anna several times and she tweeted how she loved being with him, before finding out that he had fucked someone else too.

The thing that would happen is that irrespective of the results of the Swedish case; while he is in custody in Sweden the US would issue a warrant for his arrest, Sweden would comply and he would be sent there to stand for all sorts of nasty stuff for exposing american gunships directly targeting ambulance cars, among other things.

You must understand that there is pure evil in this World that advances its own interest disregarding the Health and wellbeing of others. From the prosecutor to the two "victims" to their lawyer all have enormous prestige, money and time invested in this case. The law firm running the show has been cleansed of internal critics.

16 months deliberation?!

What exactly demanded such a protracted discussion?

We all know though that you fuck with the people running this world then you're gonna have a problem.

And, it's nothing to do with 'the UK', that's just bollocks from the few Americans who simply can't accept that their own country has ran the world for a long time and sometimes it ain't pretty.

They learnt some bollocks in school about the inherent generosity of the United States and the sly, underhand dealings of England. Even though we'd struggle to run a bath these days let alone the world, the American history lesson tells them that it must be someone else pulling the strings.

'Fraid not, the United States has ran the show for a long while back. All bad? definitely not. But, all benevolent? definitely not.

Anyway, I would love to know how much these people in the UN have been paid in a 16 month period in arriving at their answer because I could have told them the same answer within 5 seconds of being asked the question.

Another sad indictment of how politics is about taking people to the cleaners these days.

16 months deliberation?!

Well these three legal scholars considered everything, including the progressively ever more obvious fact that despite the insistence of Assange and his legal team to allow for interviews the prosecutor wouldn't do. Meaning he was in effect held in perpetual commitment without being examined and it can't be argued that it would be extraordinary or costly to do it because of the costs that his surveillance had.

Those who claim he was not in commitment (confinement) disregard the fact that the UN panel didn't, meaning that he was in a situation that virtually led to the same limitations on his freedom of movement while also allowing for the same procedures that a formal such incarceration would have allowed for.

Also I'm sure like all professional SJWs they were payed quite well =) ... not to mention the money wasted by taxpayers on this whole thing from all sides and the money spent by those who donated to Assange. But it's a small price compared to the importance of silencing/protecting someone who exposed crimes and wars that created a terrorist state and over a million dead.

How the lesser criminal was pushed into making a report by a policewoman that is a friend of the main criminal:

"
While the younger woman was at the police station on 20 August 2010, her phone records show that she wrote that she:

did not want to put any charges on JA but that the police were keen on getting a grip on him (sv: få tag på honom)

and that

she was “chocked [sic: shocked] when they arrested JA because she only wanted him to take a test

Punkt 98:

The woman concerned told a friend that she felt that she had been “railroaded by police and others around her”, according to the latter’s police statement.

Punkt 99:

According to the younger woman’s phone records, who the ‘rape’ allegation is associated to, she wrote at 07:27 on 21 August 2010 that she

“did not want to accuse JA for anything”;

and at 22:25 that

“it was the police who made up the charges”.

If he is innocent then why not face the charges? If he didn't release any illegal documents then why not face the charges? If he thinks he is right then why not stand up for his beliefs? There are heroes in this world with the courage to take responsibility for their actions... He is not one of those.

He might think that somebody is going to try and fit him up Butch.....................The brit cops, the swedish cops or the fbi......................it wouldn't be the first time for any of them, but with so many people watching with interest, it would be difficult. Like you though, I think he should face up to it and get it over. He certainly doesn't seem to have the courage of his so-called convictions.
