We have compulsory voting here too F.D. but if you don't like any of them, you just leave your ballot paper blank or write some obscene message on it and it's called informal ( don't ask me why smile) and scrapped. We have three elections due this year I think.................local ( town or city councillors), Federal ( Parliament) and Senate, ( Upper House). The voting paper is about the size of a sheet of wallpaper and you wouldn't trust any name on them to give you a straight answer to the simplest question................................I am trying to make up an obscene limerick to go on mine, or maybe I will just quote Kipling.............."I could not kill; I dared not rob and so I lied to please the mob". It seems very fitting.

You have the truth of it there Bama, but when there is little to choose between two teams of liars, thieves and rogues, many people make their own choice, which is to vote informal. I think our last election had a record number of those votes. At the moment on one side we have a smiling assassin, with no real policy except to stick it to what he regards as the lower classes. On the other side we have a man with no real substance who wants to stick it to big business and the wealthier end of town but he has the aroma of union corruption surrounding him. The rest ? They are just there to make up the numbers

They are just there to make up the numbers About 20 years ago the State of Louisiana had to choose between a Dem (who had previously been driven out of office for coruption) and a Rep ( who the party disavowed because he was, 4 years earlier, the "Grand Imperial Wizard of the KKK), clearly a choice between evils. The voters there apparently felt it was easier to deal with the crook. BTW I agreed with their choice.

LOL................I think I am leaning towards your way of thinking there Bama. The 'smiling assassin' here is all front and no substance ( like a Hollywood stage-set). He can talk the talk but when you examine that talk, you find he has actually SAID nothing. The 'union man' comes across as dumb as dogshit but he is thought to have coerced a whole lot of money from big business which kinda 'disappeared '. The Royal commission couldn't lay a glove on him, but the smell remains all the same. Still, it goes to show he is not as dumb as he seems. If he can do that for the country, he has my vote and I don't really care if he DOES skim his 10% off the top smile.

FR Anyone else having trouble getting the site to display your posts? The last few days it takes hours to get them to display and then I have had a couple of occasions when it didn't display part or all of my post.

It seems very fitting. We had a local video that was a comical informative video on how to vote properly. This reminds me, because it showed a dude writing inside the PAP box, "Fuck the PAP". And the video says, yes, you can write that, but remember if you write, "Fuck the PAP" inside the PAP box, it will still count as a vote for the PAP lol, make sure you write it outside the box or on the opposition you are voting for.

just dropping in quickly to say---the way things are presently looking, so long as both ted cruz and marco Rubio are in the race, trump's likely to win, and unfortunately, I don't see either one of them dropping out.

The biggest impediment to trump winning would be cruz/rubio unified ticket. but that would likely be "trumped" by a trump/x ticket.
