God Killed Antonin Scalia To Help Ted Cruz Get Elected President

Glenn Beck has a theory on the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and it's unlike just about anything else floating around out there.

In video posted online by Right Wing Watch, the talk show host explained that God may have killed the conservative justice to make a point -- specifically to jolt Americans into realizing how important their freedom is so that they vote for Ted Cruz to pick Scalia's replacement.

Beck called into his show -- "The Glenn Beck Program," which is on his own network, The Blaze -- to explain why God couldn't wait until after the election to allow Scalia to die.

At first Beck said he wouldn't assume to know the deity's plan, and said his initial reaction to the news of Scalia's death was (a presumably sarcastic) "thank you."

"After I got past the 'thank you' I thought 'you’re welcome,'" Beck said, explaining what he thought may have been God's response.

He then continued, from the point of view of God:

"I just woke the American people up. I took them out of the game show moment and woke enough of them up to say, look at how close your liberty is to being lost. You now have lost your liberty. You replace one guy, and you now have 5-4 decisions in the other direction. Just with this one guy, you've lost your liberty -- so you'd better elect somebody that's going to put somebody on (the Supreme Court) because for the next 30 years, if you don't, the Constitution as you know it... the Constitution is hanging by a thread. That thread has just been cut, and the only way that we survive now is if we have a true constitutionalist."
Beck has already thrown his support behind Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas who claims to be a constitutionalist. Cruz will not compromise on his Supreme Court picks, Beck said, but "will spend every dime" of his supposed political capital on a conservative nominee.

Sure are a lot of politicians, talk show hosts and Americans whose ears are blessed with the voice of god. Perhaps your security services, or is it big brother (or a cabal of witches, corporations hell bent on world domination, or aliens etc), are still lacing the water with LSD and other malarkey.

You liberty look at how close your liberty is to being lost is long gone, ours is a smidgeon behind - it still surprises me the percentage of people who are unaware of this. I, a handsome loon-by cat proxy numbers, can assure it was lost, gone to fukery, a long time ago.

Aylee -> RE: Glenn Beck Thinks.. (2/18/2016 7:22:40 AM)

I think that it is fairly normal for people to look for reasons when a person dies.

Personally, I like Beck's theory better than the "he was murdered" theories going on. I do not think it is correct, but it seems more sane.

poor glenn..

It wasnt God that killed him off, it was unhealthy food, lack of exercise, abuse of his body, etc.. He was overweight, so I doubt he exercised or ate properly, maybe drank too much, smoking? etc (although he might have disagreed and said it was hormones/genes/big bones/etc).. Imo, most life insurance corps would look at their life expectancy charts and say they are surprised he lasted as long as he did..

MrRodgers -> RE: Glenn Beck Thinks.. (2/18/2016 11:45:18 AM)

Seems to me that if God can act with such a concern for our county's jurisprudence, then it's much more likely he 'took' Scalia now so that Obama could pick a more moderate or dare I say more liberal judge...now !!

The man was less than a month away from being 80 years old. He was born in the 30's.

I think that lambasting him for poor dietary and exercise habits is a bit rude. I am doubting that yours are all that great.

I haven't seen any evidence that supports this claim.

Glenn Beck, who has been in South Carolina campaigning for Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz this week, called in to his eponymous radio program Tuesday to talk about the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. What he said garnered a strong reaction from the media, which he is now calling “outrageous.”

Shortly after his radio show ended, several media outlets — including Mediaite, Raw Story and CNN — reported that Beck said “God killed Scalia” — a claim the radio show host pushed back against strongly late Wednesday night.

“Apparently the [mainstream media] is reporting that I said ‘God killed Scalia to help Ted Cruz.’ Outrageous,” Beck wrote in a Facebook note. “What I did say is ‘perhaps God allowed Scalia to die at this time to wake America up to how close we are to the loss of our freedom.’”

After it was widely reported Wednesday that Glenn Beck said that he believed God let Antonin Scalia die to help Ted Cruz win the presidency, the radio show host pushed back against the negative coverage.

“Apparently the [mainstream media] is reporting that I said ‘God killed Scalia to help Ted Cruz.’ Outrageous,” Beck said in a Facebook post. He appears to be quoting a CNN article that has since changed it’s headline.

Beck argued that what he actually said was “perhaps God allowed Scalia to die at this time to wake America up to how close we are to the loss of our freedom,” but he didn’t back away from the idea that God actively intervened in regards to Scalia’s death.

“I happen to believe in divine providence. Americans historically have,” he said. “Maybe you do not. That is your choice and I do not mock you for not. Why mock me for believing in a traditional view of God?”

“The event is in the hand of God,” Beck concluded. “No matter how the press wants to twist my words or meaning, I stand by… we need to be awakened.”

non-Christians criticizing Christians for their theology is a little like a cat criticizing a dog when he doesn't act and believe like a cat.

And nutsucker xtians (and to be perfectly accurate as well as blunt, you cockgarglers none of you are christians, in any respect, nor have any idea what that word means) criticizing anyone about disbelieving their cretinous fairytales is sorta like criticizing intelligent people for not shitting their pants and gnashing their teeth as you nutsuckers do.

So, try to make a coherent point, something you have not attained in all your time here yet.

In fact, given that life expectancy in the U.S. is 77.5 - 80 years of age, he was at the upper range of "normal".

Canada's life expectancy is 80 years of age, BTW.

I think that tj444 is absolutely correct. Heart disease has been shown to be directly tied to
diet and lifestyle. Dr. Ornish, Dr. Esselstyn, and others have demonstrated the halting and
then the reversal of artery disease by changing diet.

Wayward5oul -> RE: Glenn Beck Thinks.. (2/18/2016 5:25:56 PM)

Dude was old. Why do people feel the need to come up with conspiracy theories or explanations of divine intervention when an 80 year old man has a heart attack?

I haven't seen any evidence that supports this claim.

Not only that but some poster actually used the word 'sane' to describe Beck's 'theory' on Scalia's death.

I am in awe of the colossal powers of imagination and invention needed to apply the word 'sane' to any of Beck's 'theories'. This is surely a case of galactic-level imagination.
