Thank you, LP. [:)] Actually the UK is a collection of countries - England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, united as one nation, the UK.

The United Kingdom is made up of several countries. Great Britain, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. I believe that's all but I could be mistaken.

Just like U.S. is an abbreviation for United States ( except in the British Army I believe), so all you americans are under a misapprehension, The U.S. is NOT a country LOL.....................gawd !!!, you bump into some peewits on here LOL

And there are a few outlying bits that are attached I think...................the Isle of Man ( which has it's own parliament; or did) and the Channel Islands are all a part of Great Britain I believe and G.B is made up otherwise of ENGLAND, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (Ulster). It is said that if you stand on the top of the highest mountain on the Isle of Man, on a clear day you can see five kingdoms.
