It's good of you to disclose that you have a vanilla wife, but you do not say you are in an open marriage. You do know that consensuality is foundational for both BDSM and D/s, don't you? This means that whatever gets mutually agreed-upon involves the consent of ALL parties concerned, including your wife and any spouse/SO or steady boyfriend your cohort may have.
Without fully informed consent, whatever it is you're doing or contemplate doing extramaritally is not BDSM, nor is it (non-vanilla) D/s, it's not even having a swinger's lifestyle.
You can keep this in mind as a pivotal reference point for anyone new to exploring this lifestyle.
