MrRodgers -> I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 12:31:30 AM)

The GOP establisment is now finally going after Trump. I am sure this is going to get ugly. Oiliver humor (and facts) will be but a bee sting I think, compared to what's coming for HairForce One

HERE

Still, other operatives worked behind the scenes Wednesday on plans for a ruthless ad blitz to discredit Trump by attacking his business career and character. It marks a dramatic escalation of an anti-Trump campaign that until recently had little firepower.

As of Tuesday, super PACs and other independent groups had plowed $16 million into commercials and mailers explicitly going after Trump and an additional $9.4 million into ads that refer to the brash billionaire. In all, that amounts to just 11 percent of the nearly $238 million spent by outside groups on the presidential race, according to FEC filings.

$millions specifically going after Trump ? It might take something very personal. This will be very interesting.

Greta75 -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 12:47:14 AM)

GOP is crazy if they think Cruz and Rubio can beat Hillary.

How silly.

They wanna put another failure like Mitt Romney type against the Dems again.

Termyn8or -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 3:41:34 AM)

On this, Greta, we agree.

And now I pontificate.

These fucking political parties have been running this country for too long. The Citizens who vote here, which is not many, rarely vote FOR anyone, they usually vote AGAINST the other one.

Is anyone around here getting tired of the lesser of two evils ? Seriously, you didn't vote for Obama, you voted against 100 years in Iraq. When was the last time the US population voted FOR something ? Maybe JFK ? (if that)

The one thing I see as encouraging is that neither of the front runners are the favorites of the party. (oh yes, party is singular not plural when it comes to the US)

Trump had gotten some ass up up they still don't want him. They want another Bush or whatever, maybe Reagan who would take their advisors' advice.

And on the other hand, the democrats are seriously threatened by Sanders. the party does not like him, on some issues they think he goes too far, and as with both parties, both of these candidates have WAAAY too much brains for them. Neither one of them will do what they're told.

In this case, if it comes down to a Sanders/Trump election, for the first time in a long time we will have a President who will do what he thinks is right for the country. The problem is whether or not those ideas are correct. What they think could wreck the place, but really, not all that bad. That's why we have congress and courts.

Neither Trump nor Sanders is very smart. They got these ideologies that won't work, both of them. But luckily there is the congress and the courts. And as far as I can tell neither one of them is owned by oil companies. Trump wants to fuck with Iran, but not outright tear up the deal and go in there. I am pretty sure he adopted that position to gain support. Nobody should do jack shit with Iran, let the IAEA sort it out. Keep the US and Israel he fuck out, Iran has no will to attack anyone with nukes. You think they're that stupid ? I know they got some stupid laws because of being a theocracy, but that does not mean they are stupid.

Well actually it does, but not enough to drop a bomb. You think they're stupid enough to think they have the only bomb on the planet ? Hell, North Korea is putting theirs on TV n shit !

WickedsDesire -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 5:41:47 AM)

Political parties! Are you quite mad sir.
Business, corporations, lobbyists and a cabal of witches, run your country of elected muppet puppets. Hoorah

KenDckey -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 6:23:25 AM)

I think this is the beginning of the end for the 2 party system. I can see 3 or more in the not to distant future.

bounty44 -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 6:28:58 AM)

your premise is not entirely true---trump seems to have a fair deal of support by at least some legislators. but that aside, its not just the "establishment," which predominantly refers to the mainstream/ruling political RINO types, who don't want trump; its also conservatives in droves who don't want and are fighting against him.

greta---at the moment, cruz and Rubio beat Hillary relatively handily in national election polls. by contrast, Hillary beats trump.

I have strong doubts about those national polls.

Because who are voting for these guys against Hillary? They can't even win their own Republican support. Dem supporters will go with Hillary.

And the independents, they have been voting Trump.

The national poll seems abit odd. Unless there is enough Dems who will not vote Hillary if it's Hillary out there and will prefer Rubio and Cruz to Hillary and Trump.

Cruz and Rubio have the popular vote and only in the last two to four weeks. However, the following shows the current electoral map.

Examiner.com Clinton over Rubio 279-259 HERE (Clinton 419-119, 358-180, 338-200 in 3 diff. polls over Trump) HERE

Clinton worst case 311 to 227 over Cruz
Clinton Expected: 317 to 221 over Cruz

The nutsucker party, does not kowtow to political correctness, or shut down free speech, they are behind trump 2000%.

They will take back this country...........

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Benghazi!!!! Benghazi!!!! Benghazi!!!!!

subrob1967 -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 9:19:58 AM)

Clinton has to survive Bryan Pagliano getting immunity and the email investigation before she has to worry about beating Trump or Cruz.

mnottertail -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 9:24:18 AM)

No she doesnt, anymore than trump has to survive the lawsuit in NY about his fraudulent university.

As I said, the nutsuckers set the precedent with Dubyah. Big club, no big deal.

joether -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 9:33:35 AM)

I think it is amusing that the GOP establishment is at odds with Mr. Trump. After all, the GOP establishment created the loony-toon crap now known as the Tea Party. They gave it 'life' (or is that unlife?) when they made Tea Party starlet, Sarah Palin a VP next to John McCain. Ever since, Tea Party candidates have won seats in Congress and proceeded to do.....NOTHING....useful for the nation (except as an example of what....NOT....to allow into power). They created their own monster. They made a deal with the Devil and tried to screw the Devil on the fine print (which they lost at that).

There really is not much the GOP establishment can do now. Mr. Trump has them WTF-blackmailed! If they fuck around further, he'll be the GOP nomination. If they find someone else, he'll run third party. Either way the GOP loses the White House. The question is: Does the GOP stick to its principles and risk not getting the White House; or throw out their principles like many of their supporters (yeah, I'm looking at the religious right whom just supported the anti-christ of their religious beliefs in the flesh, Mr. Trump), and STILL lose the White House.

On the Democrats side, its the Democrat we want to win (Sanders) but instead the Democrat whom will win (Clinton). Either way, Democrats are pretty happy. There is no 'voting for the lesser evil' between Sanders and Clinton. In fact, in the general election, it'll be voting for the better of individuals (Sanders/Clinton verse Trump).

Greta75 -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 9:58:42 AM)

Mittens is gonna look so silly talking against Trump!

Donald Trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works and to create jobs, he has done it in Nevada and across the country. He is one of the few people who stood up and said China has taken jobs from Americans. We believe in free trade but we have to have a President to stand up and not allow people to cheat day in and day out.

I spent my life in the private sector, not quite as successful as this guy, but successful none the less. Sufficiently successful to understand what it takes for America to be the most attractive place in the world for innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators.

I think it's time for us to recognize we can't keep going down the road we're on. We have to dramatically change course.

So I want to say thank you to Donald Trump and I look forward to seeing you on the trail. Thank you Donald!

I agree electoral college polling might be a better indicator, but the link you are using to suggest Clinton is ahead of cruz or rubio, (http://www.270towin.com/polling-maps/bJQV/) has far too many states that are “unpolled” and they’re also using data from 2012 for goodness sake.

if there are other electoral college polls out there, they must suffer from the same problems.

Meanwhile, unless we are talking about general election polls taken at the state level, which are literally all over the map, the straight polls at the national level by a variety of polling agencies for at least the last month (and I remember it from before that too), have cruz and Rubio both consistently (near perfectly actually) beating her.

That said, yes I know polls are problematic but among other things, what might be showing in the Clinton vs cruz or rubio match-ups in favor of the latter two, and the reverse being the case with Clinton vs trump, is how much a fair portion of American voters wont go for trump.

If anyone is talking any poll on anything to do with november elections, they are talking in hallucinations.

If the election was held tomorrow----it aint going to be held tommorrow.

Who will you be voting for in the November Election? Any answer with respect to November is pure schizoid.

I've said it before, and I'm saying it again. I'm done voting against someone. I will not vote for the GOP candidate simply because he's running against Hillary. I will vote FOR whichever candidate best lines up with my beliefs. If that means I end up voting for a ticket like Roseanne Barr/Cindy Sheehan and the Peace & Freedom Party, so be it.

After the election, if (when?) asked, I'll gladly tell you who I voted for and why.

Greta75 -> RE: I knew it was coming...GOP establish. vs Trump (3/3/2016 5:35:08 PM)

I'm looking forward to the next debate, and Mittens seriously has no integrity at all. I didn't like him in 2012, and now, I totally know why. 2012 was a horrible year. I didn't like Obama,and I didn't like Mittens. If I had a vote, I might actually vote *horrors* Obama as the better candidate.

So two past failed candidates McCain and Mittens gang up against Trump. GOP is desperate to take Trump down.

It's really good, actually. I think Clinton would crumble if she had to face up to her own party against her and everybody against her.

Trump is gonna show his mettle.
