What if there was NO intelligence information but the security forces knew there was a bomb going to be exploded somewhere at sometime by somebody of a specified race or religion ? Do they do what the ' Barbouzes ' in France used to do when confronted with this type of problem, and round up as many of that specified race or religion and put them through some horrific and barbaric tortures until somebody tells them SOMEthing ? There were a lot of crippled and maimed Algerians and ex-legionaires back in the sixties who got caught up in nets like that. The Barbouzes would just dump those who the found to be useless to them, outside one of the many hospitals in Paris or wherever and went and started on the next in line. They were also in Algeria, Tunisia, Indo-Chine and various other places, sniffing out so-called terrorists. One of France's blacker episodes and one nobody will speak about these days.

Well, you can't randomly torture people for information, as that is just not efficient. Plus torture is time consuming and man power consuming if you wanna torture the masses.

If you don't have any suspects, then you just gotta keep looking until you find sufficient evidence that this person is involved. IF intelligence fail to find anything AT ALL, then, no torture can be done as, I want to look at this as pragmatically as possible. Grabbing any Muslim off the street to torture them, is not going find this bomb. It's like striking lottery, how will you find the right one that way? The chances is too low, too time consuming and manpower consuming to execute torture for information with that sort of methodology!

Les Barbouzes didn't quite look at it that way...................they had plenty of manpower and a number of very well equipped 'play'-rooms scattered about the place. Their idea was that Everybody is guilty of something, so they would do roundups with a striking similarity to the ones the SS and gestapo used to do. They were funded from a special fund that nobody seemed to know anything about and they pretty much had open slather to do as they pleased. A bunch of psychopaths if ever there were any........................an acquaintance of mine took employment with them and that guy was a total raving sadist. I heard that he fitted in perfectly.

The Barbouzes began back in the days of 'Big Charlie' and France called itself a democracy even then. I see striking similarities between what happened then and what a mean-minded, revenge seeking, spiteful power-hungry asshole like Trump would possibly like to institute. It's up to America and the thinking-Americans if he ever gets that opportunity or not I guess.
