Apparently you didn't understand my comment. I didn't say there were no state laws. There was no basis for the assumption that state laws about fundraising superceded federal rules.

I never had the opinion that this was a private matter.

Even having a candidate shake hands with strangers within a polling place in Massachusetts is illegal, be it primaries or regular election.

Mnottertail and Mr Rodgers, i side with you two more often than not, but what he did is illegal. Not only that, but he was warned before hand (which is another law he broke). He intentionally broke the law to sway a vote that was 50-49.

Once again, sorry Phydeaux. I was met with hostility and insult the first or second post I ever made (not by you), and once peace has been broken, it's hard to reestablish

I agree.
Once you allow candidates, or their spouse to do something like this, how do you stop their friends from doing so?
Soon you have people with baseball bats or other weapons running people off they disagree with you.
Note that I am talking from history, this is the reason these laws were passed in the first place.

PS I apologize for having suggested you were a sock for Joe.

No I understood it just fine. As I stated before, I never said a thing about fundraising, so clearly it was you who didn't understand. But Hey no worries, I pretty much expect that by now.

Why not ? It's done for all parties and on an equal basis.

He wasn't a candidate and no, meet'n & greet'n is just that if that's what was done.

Because it is being publicly funded, therefore it is a public function, not a "private party" function.

For the third time:

Because it still uses government workers, government facilities, at tax payer expense.

That is the reason for these laws.

I was just stating that the laws in mass encompass a pretty large set of behaviors. Bill broke the law, and it's on film

Cinnamongirl67 -> RE: Clinton violated election laws in Massachusetts (3/8/2016 9:09:59 PM)

A perfect example...

Trump is 10 times smarter then the smartest person here.😘😇
I would rather play euchre then play another loser game with bad politics past.

Termyn8or -> RE: Clinton violated election laws in Massachusetts (3/8/2016 10:47:32 PM)

FR, I know it is hard to believe I mean this in all seriousness;

I probably violated some law in that state after Romney was governor. I am surprised ANYONE lives there, how can they afford it ? Son of a bitch did not raise income taxes buy raised 34,089 other things to rally unreasonable levels, and enacted more fucked up regulations than people outside the Bay State Curtain could ever understand. Just try to get license plates there, if you are out of fucking windshield washer fluid you have to WALK to go buy some or get a ride because your vehicle is impounded. And don't wonder what those local stores charge for it or who the owners of said stores have connections with. They're almost worse than fucking Connecticut. Both of them are among the few states where they are more ignorant of the Constitution than Ohio. Go west if you want rights, but stay away from California. The only problem is drug laws. The fuck are they to tell me not to smoke ? Other than that, in the east they seem to want you to drop a dollar into a cop car window for every mile you drive.

But those eastern states have too many laws. It is fucking ridiculous. If that is the way it is (and it is) then I do not want to be there. I also don't want to be in the Bible belt.

Hmm, that is why I am not going anywhere. Really, I know people here n shit.

But really, some of the things I hear about laws in other states is downright scary. Five years for one joint, second DUI a felony, that is fucking ridiculous.

Land of the free ? Could've fooled me.

T^T

We shall revisit this curious notion when taxpayer supported Voter ID raises its unconstitutional head, which it will of necessity when the current nefarious contrivances to prevent voting by the nutsucker party do not put a nutsucker in the whitehouse.

You mean constitutional. Already been heard and approved by the supreme court, with no other voter id on the docket.

mnottertail -> RE: Clinton violated election laws in Massachusetts (3/9/2016 1:48:19 PM)

No, it really hasn't. All voter ID laws that exist have escape clauses, but now that the unconstitutional nutsucker in chief has cakked, even those will be judged unconstitutional once nutucker hacks are replaced by legal people. Could have been done already except for nutsucker hacks.

The amendment carries weightier proscribing language than the 2nd.

Does the film show Bill encouraging people to vote for Hillary within 150' of a polling station?

Technically, he's not in the election, so the laws that make it illegal for a candidate to shake hands with strangers doesn't apply.

If there is proof of him asking people to vote for Hillary, then it can be proven he broke the law. Without clear proof, his being there is circumstantial evidence and not likely to hold up in court. I think most of us would agree that his being there was intended to be influential, but absent proof he broke the law, "Slick Willy" will worm out of any trouble.

Even if there is absolute proof he will get away with it.

mnottertail -> RE: Clinton violated election laws in Massachusetts (3/9/2016 2:03:55 PM)

Of course, just like Nixon got away, Reagan got away, W got away, Cheney got away, Agnew got away.........and so on.

DominantWrestler -> RE: Clinton violated election laws in Massachusetts (3/9/2016 3:59:56 PM)

Do not get hung up on particular examples of of how what he did was illegal. One thing he did that was illegal was going into polling places without having any business there (besides campaigning). Both statutes and case law make what he did illegal

He will never get prosecuted. The system protects itself
