Impressing is an activity in BDSM in which some sort of surface that is textured is applied to temporarily transfer that texture to the skin.
This is often done by accident when a rope is too tight. There are other mediums besides rope which provide texture such as bath mats, sandpaper, graters etc.
Impressing is different from suction as you would get from something like a snake bite kit. (Note: Snake bite kits -Cheap, lasts forever and easily obtainable at your local army surplus stores. If you buy these at places like LeatherMaster you will pay 4-5x the price and if you want to spend $20 bux instead of $5, that's cool.. you're supporting a local business.)
Impressing can be done all on its own, of course, but it's fabulous when you mix it with other stuff.
Bubble bathmat
Sitting on a bubble bathmat for 20 or 30 minutes makes for an interesting canvas from which to segue. An acetate stencil placed strategically, a small paint brush and some hot wax and.. art is born. ;)
Wanna be lazy but still get results? Try using mixed media impressing and pretty much all you have to do is sit back and have your bottom go fetch various items to sit or lie on and see what impressions form.
Silicon molds for mini muffins/cupcakes are GREAT for this and once in a while a vacuum forms and.. well, win/win. (Don't ask me how I know this factoid! lol)
A row of forks placed tine-side down (put them in the freezer first, of course) on a hard surface are beautiful to temporarily impress some buttocks for ones viewing pleasure or picture collection.
Those same forks placed tine-side up make different marks sooooo.. twofer! :D
Most folks involved with abrasion play can attest to the fun to be had with fine grain sandpaper but course grain has its uses as well in impressing! Go sit on that! (Want to train your bottom NOT to squirm? Course grain works well for the purpose. ;)
When you are having your dinner tonight consider sitting on a bubble bathmat (14.99 at Macy's) and see if impressing impresses you and if so.. press on with your bad self!
When the kiddies bring home the macaroni artwork and you are ready to toss it out three years from now.. sit on it instead or, be a kid and make some of your own. That's another win/win!
Rice, checker pieces, marbles.. so many things can be laid out either by design or abstract and impressing is really going to be limited by your own imagination more than anything.
Next time a bottom wants to know what you can do for them.. just say.. "Oh, I have no doubt I can impress you!" .. and it will be true. ;)
So, is this something you either do or would like to do? What sorts of mediums do you think would mix well with impressions? Can you think of things which maybe better off avoided when impressing various body parts? Oil down a bottom, roll bottom around in rice, wrap in saran wrap and place in steamer basket for 20 mins? ;P
