http://www.businessinsider.com/middle-class-share-of-wealth-chart-2016-3

Tax breaks for the wealthy to stuff overseas, corporations accruing the benefits of America by holding their HQ here, but not willing to give anything back, and shipping the jobs overseas, lobbyists, and protections of the military-industrial complex from their catamites, the nutsuckers, while simultaneously putting the fucks to the American citizen.

And the ignorant chants.

You guys haven't been paying attention.

In America:

*you are born to produce a profit, for yourself or somebody else or, you can just...go to jail or die.
*you are to be that profit-center all through life, through sickness and in health and especially...old age.
*the corporation is declared a person without personal liability upon the real people who form it and has a fiduciary responsibility to its investors, irrespective of the price society pays, without regard to ethics or morality.
*for economy to be made to serve ALL of society even at a minimum...is socialism, under which you are to believe society at large...are the ones to suffer.
*elections and politics are designed to protect the minority (the capitalist aristocracy) against the 'tyranny of the masses'i.e.,...the rest of society.
*the courts (a place of competition) holds the legal game of competing interests overwhelmingly 'won' benefiting those that can afford the most skilled practitioners...competitors.
*progress is held back by the status quo of the aristocracy and their restrictions upon and overuse of current natural resources...for ever higher current profits.

It's a long class, with many chapters, we won't go into now.

mnottertail -> RE: The weakening of America (3/27/2016 7:52:13 PM)

it aint that long, it has happened we lost the strong vibrant engine of this country (the middle class) in my lifetime.

Real0ne -> RE: The weakening of America (3/27/2016 9:54:13 PM)

The real kick in the ass is that the solution they push is not a solution at all. save more? are they fucking joking? Investment? after the middle class has now fallen into the lower class? Put their money on wall street and give to the wolves. Its a full time job if you really want to 'invest' and protect that investment.

the joke is americans think this country is so great and while they are waving their flags wall street, banks and gubblmint is robbing them blind. They will figger it out when they dont have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of [8D]

RO, you should stop those misspellings. Your credibility is already on the edge, you should try to be as coherent and correct as possible.

Anyway, we are getting weak for several reasons. the family has been destroyed. People have no work ethic. Education is screwed so they are unemployable anyway.

We are headed for the LAST "recession" soon. there is no method of recovery. Back in 1929 they soon had a war that saved the economy. Drastic measures were taken. And they were in 2008. But there is no money to do it again, and we should have let those k___ banksters go broke, and in fact put their asses in jail like Iceland did. But we didn't.

Fucking fact is people are going to relearn how to live. This country has NO CHOICE but to default on the national debt. When that happens, isolation comes due to the fact nobody will take our money. We will have to learn to make our own stuff again. Our dollars will be like scrip they used in the military to keep the soldiers from buying drugs or pussy. They will be good here, but if you want anything from another country it will cost through the nose.

And believe it or not, that will be the best thing that ever happened to this country. Both the government and the People will have to figure out how to live, to be self sufficient. We import over half our food ! What happened to being the breadbasket of the west ? I'll tell you what happened, we grow wheat. People got plenty of wheat and the price is low. We grow GMO corn, alot of that is used for ethanol or fuel of some sort. You cannot live on wheat alone. You want good tasty vegetables ? Half of them come from South America, and they are raking us over the coals on the price of some of them because of the shit the US government did down there in the early 1900s. They also never forget. That is why your Coca Cola has HFCS instead of sugar, but a Mexican's Coca Cola has real sugar.

In 1940, when you bought a refrigerator, a guy strapped it on his back and carried it up to your fourth floor apartment by himself, unstrapped it and plugged it in. I knew a guy who literally acted as a tow bar for a car, grabbing the bumper with his bare hands and putting his feet on the bumper of another car. When younger, me and a buddy lifted up the back of a car to move it. (it didn't run and was in the way of the garage door behind which was his motorcycle)

We are weak in many ways, but the physical I think is important. What if we really were attacked ? People are afraid of guns, and they park as close as possible to the door and ride the elevator up to go use a stairmaster at a "gym".

I am starting to think that we just about deserve to be conquered.

You of all people should not be coaching on threads as you are one of those most guilty of misspellings and rambling. This is another example as I don't think and I am thinking most, won't think, the OP is about physical strength of Americans at all.

Also, the International Trade Commission lists over 12,000 specific tariffs on imports to America. Hundreds of agricultural, textile, and manufacturing items are highly protected. So are obscure items like live foxes. Also, there are mohair and tobacco subsidies in the US.

As for sugar, HFCS is simply a cheaper, subsidized, corn based sugar whereas cane sugar comes from a sugar plant, both of which are harmful to humans.

But tell me, who would want to conquer/colonialize America ?

In the annals of history, conquest occurs pretty regularly. Why is *who* important?

The Sugar prices in the US are artificially high. There are enough barriers to free trade to keep significantly less expensive imports out to maintain the US Sugar Industry's prices. HCFS also benefits from those same barriers, but also from corn subsidies. In Mexico, sugar is cheaper than it is in the US. It might have an easier time competing with HFCS there.

It isn't. I just don't think there is any country that would take on the expense and the losses to do it. Plus, America is a wealthy country in some respects but is not adorned with an overabundance of any particular natural resource, except maybe...hot air.

Yea, I think sugar is also cheaper in Brazil. I have had Pepsi and when young, was addicted. I have had it since with cane sugar and it is too sweet.

Pepsi is my pop/soda of choice (Dr. Pepper is a very close second), when I choose pop. I don't taste any difference between sugar cane Pepsi and HFCS Pepsi.

It's funny you say that you think sugar cane Pepsi is too sweet, as one of the knocks on HFCS is that it is much, much sweeter than cane sugar, leading to a reduced sensitivity to sweets. It's almost like you get addicted and the level of sweetness your body needs for it's fix keeps increasing.
