The third world shithole known as singapore has about a million millionaires.
The third world shithole known as singapore has about a million cars whose possession is restricted to the richest portion of the population.
You claim to own a car in the third world shithole known as singapore.
Do the math...oh wait you have told us you can't do arithmatic...perhaps you could get a grown up to do the math for you.

Still doesn't prove that I am a millionaire. You don't need to be a millionaire to own a car around here.

Perhaps not in idaho but in that third world shithole known as singapore you most definitely do.
I have posted all the data from the governments official websites. You claim to own a car in singapore. You claim to own a home in singpore. You claim to travel around the world. You claim you chew gum in the cops face....cops do not punk the rich.
So stop pissing on my leg and telling me it is raining.
[8|]

Wealth in singapore are the five cs...car,credit card, condominuim, cash and country club. Cops are not blind and the five cs are pretty easy to spot.[8|]

So how would a cop know which person on the street has the five Cs?

Possession of a car. Possession of a drivers license. Address on drivers license.
Jesus you are phoquing stupid.

There are a lot of high profile cases of abuse and there are a HELL of a lot of guys and gals who don't make the news which means they are doing their job as expected.

So, if you meet a policeperson, do you trust them more, less or the same as someone else that you just met. I chose "the same" as there are scumbags, awesome human beings and just regular folks in the middle both in and out of uniform.

There are a lot of high profile abuse cases because bad cops make good headlines. And as we have seen many of these cases turn out not to be abuse, but by the time that comes out all many people remember it the accusation.

LadyPact -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/28/2016 12:30:05 PM)

Hiya, Hill.

I voted pretty much the same as any other person I'd run across. I mean, I know better than most people that just because someone is in a uniform (police, military, etc) doesn't automatically mean they are a good person. You've got as much chance of being "right" that they are decent than any other person that you run across. Then, you have the ones who try to hide behind their uniform so folks will think they wouldn't ever do some really messed up stuff.

The clothes a person wears isn't the best way to judge character.

I wont go so far as to say all cops are crooks...just the ones I have met.

.....plus I am seeing recordings (stupid) of cops planting evidence, some even done by hand signal so as to be very subtle.

NO!! I don't trust most cops anymore.

Just pull up videos on YouTube...you'll be disgusted and because it is in fact becoming more widespread.

Yes there are cops who shouldn't be trusted with a drivers liscense but the vast majority are trustworthy people.
Cops are human, and most of the "excesses" are because someone does something to bring it on, beginning with assuming they are the enemy.

Phydeaux -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/28/2016 2:54:17 PM)

I trust cops way more than I trust debbie wasserman shultz. Alcyee Hastings. Bill Clinton. Anthony Wiener. Rambo Emmanuel. Michael Mann. Personal Injury Lawyers. Drug dealers. Welfare recipients. Television personalities. Jesse Jackson. Al Sharpton. Maxine Waters. Sotomayer.

All of those you listed are less trustworthy that used car salesmen and hookers, so that is a real low bar.

You're silly. Gum can legally be purchased from pharmacy for dental reasons. How can a police possibly bother you for chewing gum? The law says, you cannot sell gum, unless for medical reasons, thus the dental gum. There is no law that says you can't chew gum.
I do own a home, I do own a car, and I have travelled yes. You don't need to be a millionaire to do that at all. For example, my home is fully paid by that 40% taxes that you keep insisting is tax. I told you it's our money to use. So my home does not even dig into my salary. And my car cost me only 28k when COE crash to $2. Don't need to be a millionaire to afford that. Currently COE (Certificate of Entitlement to own a car for 10 years) is at $60k. But like the stock market, that goes up and down, so buy the car when it crashes again. Currently it's dropping again.

There is no address on our driving license at all. And having a driving license means nothing. Many people have licenses but do not own a car.

You mean with government permission as in a perscription.

How can a police possibly bother you for chewing gum? The law says, you cannot sell gum, unless for medical reasons, thus the dental gum. There is no law that says you can't chew gum.

Cop sees you chewing gum and demands your perscription to prove you are not breaking the law.

I do own a home, I do own a car, and I have travelled yes. You don't need to be a millionaire to do that at all. For example, my home is fully paid by that 40% taxes that you keep insisting is tax.

The official government sites I posted says that all of the public housing is leased not owned. I posted that the last time you tried to tell that phoquing lie.

I told you it's our money to use.

No the oficial government site I posted says you get the interest on that money and interest only. I posted that the last time you tried to tell that phoquing lie.

So my home does not even dig into my salary.

It is not your home it is where you live the government owns it an always will.

And my car cost me only 28k when COE crash to $2.

Perhaps you could link me to the date that 28k was the cost of a coe.
That is another lie. The coe was 28k then there is the price of the car. The cost of fuel the cost for a parking space. How does one acquire $100,000 to have a car and still travel around the world unless one is a millionaire.

Don't need to be a millionaire to afford that. Currently COE (Certificate of Entitlement to own a car for 10 years) is at $60k. But like the stock market, that goes up and down, so buy the car when it crashes again. Currently it's dropping again.

That is another thing. Your coe that you claim cost you 28k expires in ten years and you have to get the car out of that third world shithole called singapore. How does someone piss away 100k and claim they are not a millionaire?

Possession of a car. Possession of a drivers license. Address on drivers license.

Roflmfao....a drivers license does not have your address on it?
Since there are only 800,000 cars in that third world shithole called singapore and 1,000,000 millionaires, if you are not a millionaire how did you outbid those richer than you?[8|]
Jesus you are phoquing stupid.

I voted I trust them more.
I've had a bad experience and a good experience.
Generally, I don't trust people. I trust police slightly more, but probably because my interactions with them are minimal.

Is it becoming more widespread (ie are more police doing it) or are we just noticing it more due to YouTube and the proliferation of video-capable cell phones that people always carry with them? Let us not forget minorities have, for decades, claimed to be framed or unfairly targeted by the police.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/28/2016 8:37:43 PM)

I would trust the majority of cops about as far as I could piss into a force ten gale.
Here in Queensland, they are beginning to wear chest cams, so that anything they do or say or that is said to them goes on record; and STILL the stupid bastards, bash people, beat people up and use more excessive force at times and then they have the STOOOOOOOOOOPID audacity to attempt to deny they did it or that it was them that did it.
I have to admit that my dislike of cops goes back to when I was a J.D. in London and the habit that cops there had of fitting people up, just so they could clear the crime-books a little and get some of the more annoying types off the streets, regardless of whether they had done anything or not. West-End-Central was one of the most infamous but J Division wasn't far behind.

Utterly nonsense. No prescription required to buy dental gum to start with.
quote:

The official government sites I posted says that all of the public housing is leased not owned. I posted that the last time you tried to tell that phoquing lie.

As far as I'm concern, I own it for the 99 years lease I paid for. And anyway, the reason why it's on lease is because every 80 years or so, they will bang down the whole building and rebuild. You will be given another home for free in replacement for another 99 years.

So it's pretty much owning. We don't like old buildings in Singapore. Everything gets bang down and rebuilt before 100 years is up.

No the oficial government site I posted says you get the interest on that money and interest only. I posted that the last time you tried to tell that phoquing lie.

You earn interest on the money, plus you can use it for medical, education and mortgage. It's practically our spending money. Not a tax! What kind of taxes in this world, gives you interest on the tax you pay and save it for you in an account? Sheesh!
quote:

It is not your home it is where you live the government owns it an always will.

It's my home. I own it! If the government wants to take it away from me, they gotta gimme a new one in replacement.

COE is $2. Car cost $28k inclusive of COE. http://singaporemotoring.blogspot.sg/2008/11/tales-of-2-coe.html
My fuel cost me only $50 a mth, my fuel efficiency is very good, and Singapore is tiny, it takes me 10 mins to drive to work and home. Free parking at work. Plus, I work own time own target, so I always skip peak hours, and don't get stuck in jams. My season parking cost me only $60 a mth. And pretty much I park where-ever is free parking. Being local, we know where all the free carparks are. My road tax is only $300 per annum. Car insurance is only $800 per annum.

Don't need to be a millionaire to afford that. And not all millionaires own cars. Why should they? Taxis are as convenient.

Roflmfao....a drivers license does not have your address on it?

Why would driving license have address on it? That must be just a USA thingy. Look at picture below, no address on license.
Singapore Driving License

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/28/2016 11:07:08 PM)

I'm not really sure at the moment Thompson but I have the feeling that the new licences here don't have an address on them. They have a chip in them that can be scanned. I really don't know yet though. I'll let you know in December when I renew my licence *smile*.

BamaD -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/29/2016 2:18:50 AM)

FR
Some people here simply are either not being honest or not thinking things through.
How can you be both anti gun and anyi police unless you are pro crime.

freedomdwarf1 -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/29/2016 2:29:31 AM)

You suffer from the age-old misnomer that "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" syndrome.
The truth is, an enemy of my enemy can still be my enemy too; it doesn't make them my friend by default.

You can still be anti-police an not be 'pro-crime' as a result.

Greta75 -> RE: Do you trust the police? (3/29/2016 2:34:33 AM)

But, Anti-Police and Anti-Guns as well. So don't trust the police to protect you. Don't trust yourself with guns to protect yourself.

What is the solution to regulate crime?
