I'll expand a bit past theme song and say this is the single greatest opening scene for a series ever. Captures the entire run in one quick shot, the hopelessness, the gallows humor, the strength to go on in face of tragedy, our insanely surreal acceptance of violence and chaos in modern life, just fucking everything

If I only get one I will have to go with CHEERS.

But if I get a 2nd and 3rd choice :)
#2 would be Dr Who (Tom Baker series)
#3 would be Star Trek (original)

I heard so much that was good about The Wire. But I thought it might be a bit *too* gritty for me and that I'd find it depressing.

The Gindhouse movie "Planet Terror" had excellent music all the way through. The best of it came at the end with the closing credits.
