I saw this on Yahoo news and thought it was worth sharing. https://www.yahoo.com/news/woman-went-snowboarding-while-being-122900543.html

Most wild animals have a healthy fear of humans. Ime bears are the exception.

As a rule, with the exception of grizzly bears and polar bears, they fear humans and will generally avoid them unless they think they're cornered. Sometimes however there are exceptions to that rule. Bears are unpredictable and in situations where people feed them they can lose their fear.

And the thing to remember with polar bears is that they do not agree with humans as to who is the preditor.

You are correct in that most bad encounters with bears have one of two origins:

A They leave food out, or worse yet feed the bears
or
B They startle the bear or infringe on it's space.

Looked neat. Too bad someone recognized the bear part of the video from a game called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Yes, I am crazy about feathered creatures. I have a dozen chickens, 3 ducks, 5 geese, and 2 parakeets.

Revise that number. Just got 14 new chicks and 5 turkeys.
