ORIGINAL: Tkman117 Ah the simple mindedness of being a conservative. Things are always so black and white for you morons. How I wish the world was truly so simple as you view it. I'm not wasting my time going through your bullshit response, but I will say this; my generation is and continues to work their assess off to get places in life, and simply pointing out that you old farts are applying ancient standards on a generation where they don't apply is in itself passing blame onto others. You don't want to take responsibility for the fact that your generation and earlier have had a negative affect on later generations. You think that if you can do it, so can anyone else at any other time period, not taking into consideration the fact that money isn't worth as much as it was in the past and prices have risen disproportionately for pretty much everything. Maybe back in the 60s or 70s when it was possible to do so, sure. But that's not the way things are anymore. That's the problem with the older generation, they're stuck in the past and they think if they shit out a turd it has to be golden and the younger generation should be content with it. I take responsibility for my own life, and I'm doing my absolute best to enter the industry that I've been working towards. But it's not bitching and whining to look at cause and effect relationships, and how past generations simply haven't made it easy for us millennials as a whole. I'm taking responsibility for my life and I'm ready to take responsibility for the effect my generation has on the next, are you lot ready to take responsibility for what you've done to inhibit my generation or is just gonna be more denial talking down to people who aren't doing the same things you people did in your youth? What, exactly, have I done to inhibit your generation? Go talk to someone who has, literally, broken his back working. See what shit the went through, and then tell me you're doing your best. You're just a whiny, sniveling, little pissant. And, please note, I'm not saying anything about "your generation." I'm saying it about you. Your life is sooo tough? Not enough of a headstart? Blame your parents. Don't fucking blame me, my generation, or anyone else's generation. My grandfather worked in a steel mill. He was drafted into WWII. He was one that stormed the beaches on Normandy. He was a POW from the Battle of the Bulge. Know what he did when he came back? He worked in that same steel mill. But, he worked his ass off so my Dad, Aunt and Uncle could have it better than he did. Know what my grandmother did? She raised kids while her husband was shipped off to war. Growing up, she had to leave school after 6th grade so she could work to help the family out. My Dad went to school, worked, went back to school and worked, worked worked. While he was getting his post-graduate degree, he was working in a steel mill. He worked his butt off, at times taking a second job for extra money while my Mom did her best to raise us 4 kids. Why did they do that? So we'd have a better life than they did. Yeah. Your life is so fucking harsh. Grow the fuck up and buy a fucking clue. You're looking for someone to give you a job. I don't doubt you're willing to work at a job in your field. I don't even doubt you want to work hard in your chosen field. However, it's not up to anyone to provide a job for you. It's up to you to show that you're the best choice for the position you want. They want experience? Go fucking get some. FFS, volunteer, if you have to. You aren't being hired because the employers feel other candidates are better choices for the position. Are they right? I have no fucking clue, and I don't give a fuck, either. It's on you to demonstrate that you're the best choice. And, in case you're wondering, that last paragraph is something I'd have no problem saying to my kids, my friends that complain about jobs, etc. I work with people older than me, people my age, and people younger than me. I am constantly amazed at some people pissing and moaning about their job, when their job isn't really difficult, and the pay starts out at 150% of minimum wage, yet, they do nothing (except piss and moan) about how bad their job is (notice how I didn't specify any particular age group? That's because it's not just one group). Then, there are some real gems that I'm going to hate watch leave for greener pastures. There are a few who are working their butts off while going to school to get ahead. Many of those people are in my generation or younger. They tend to come in, do their jobs while keeping their heads on straight. They don't bitch and moan all the time, either. They'll make plenty of money in their chosen fields. It's going to be a bummer watching them leave. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kate-norquay/what-i-learned-four-years-working-at-mcdonalds_b_8682928.html
