lol, I seriously thought this thread read "Rand Paul" for president for the first few scrolls. *That* would help Amerika. Anyone either party presents as a candidate will not.

Sheesh people, spot a fucking pattern already.

Um, that last message wasn't 'in reply' to Thompsonx. I'm not sure how to make a message 'in reply' to no one though...

If you're replying quickly at the end of a thread, popping "FR" (for "fast reply") at the beginning of your post acts as a flag that you're not necessarily responding to anyone in partic.

Oh cool, thanks. I had noticed that a few times and didn't know what it meant.

But if between him and ted, who is the better of the worst?

I'd say Cruz, as he's likely to do less real damage.

Look, they will ALL 'play ball.' They are allowed to tinker on the edges but there will be no real reform. He will continue or increase the drone war, creating as many new enemies as it kills.

He will very likely not only keep GITMO open but may well begin to restock it with so-called 'enemy combatants.' He will cut the taxes of the repub constituency. He may well try for a new DOMA act. He will continue corporate welfare, Ag. and ethanol subsidies, tariffs and scam. He will continue to have the FDA determine where the most profit is in drugs. He will continue to base most approvals on religion rather than science like stem cell research, among the most promising. He will almost assuredly continue the windfall profit from Med Part D.

I don't see Trump or Cruz or HRC being much different with the exception of HRC on taxes and a try for some spending differences.

Kinkroids they...Presidents are hood ornaments...enjoy how they cut the wind. That's all they will do. We'll take care of the partisan bullshit, make living or not and just to struggle through.

Rand Paul certainly ain't his daddy, at least not yet. Rand is a lot more "Republican" than Ron. And, yes, I'm using "Republican" as an adjective with a negative connotation. I don't think he's as principled as Ron, either. If Rand were more like Ron, I'd agree that he'd be very good for the US (although all his budget plans have included increasing defense spending).
