You never hear the Right crying that they will leave the country if Hillary was voted in.

I had to look up Lena Dunham to find out who she is. lol

Trump's response was perfect, though. He said he has to be elected now, so as to perform a great service to the US. lol

While they might not have said it about Hillary, they've said it about other candidates. One reason it's not as big a threat from conservatives is, where are they going to go? If they are running out because of the perception that the US is going socialist or communist, where are they going to go where that's not going to be the norm? You think they're moving to Canada? Europe? About the only places they can go that aren't more socialist than the US are likely reduce their lifestyles more than they are willing to do.

Nobody's moving based on an election. More often than not, those that are spewing that crap are doing so solely for the attention. Right or left, they are attention whores.

Actually, compared to the US and its quirky individualistic and extreme capitalist approach to most things, Canada and the EU (and Oz/NZ) are waay more socialist in their outlook and implementation of stuff.
Although we don't go as far as China from a socialistic PoV, it would be a huge culture shock for US citizens to try and fit in to our societal norms to what they are used to in the US.

So while not totally socialist, we are a good long move away from the US on the socialist scale and understandably thinking we are socialist from their PoV.

Imo its a good idea to leave no matter who wins the next election(s) cuz ya know this country is just gonna get more and more screwed up.. But yeah, few people will actually follow thru with that, the pain isnt high enough to push them to.. but its also like being a lobster in a pot on the stove, the water keeps getting warmer and warmer but the lobster doesnt realize it until its too late..
