Another case, just like Flint.

Democrats negotiating contracts not in the public interest...

FOP WANTS TO DEEP-SIX MISCONDUCT FILES -- “Feds’ probe of CPD stalls move to destroy misconduct files," by Chicago Sun-Times' Andy Grimm: "The federal investigation into the Chicago Police Department has slowed a push by police unions to destroy decades of disciplinary files on officers, a labor arbitrator ruled on Friday. Unions representing rank-and-file officers, as well as sergeants, lieutenants and captains each filed labor grievances after a 2012 court ruling that would have turned over to activists and journalists files on police officer misconduct cases dating back to 1967. The unions complained that their contracts with the city stipulate that records should be 'purged' or destroyed outright, a stance a pair of labor arbitrators initially had backed." http://bit.ly/1QLQ5oh

Have you a point?

MrRodgers -> RE: Democrat union abuse (5/2/2016 3:13:02 PM)

Oh yes, better that it be a repub federal executive DOJ...losing 5 million emails.
Better it not be using some middle 19th century laws to cover pay offs to the city govt....or something like that.
Better it be allowing invest./bankers sell shit paper that they themselves knew would fail as reflected in their own shorting of same and that those same bankers claim...is not fraud.

Can't wait for the next piece of shit paper wall street gets to leverage billion$ on, in their early speculation and make billion$, see it turn very smelly...and walk away. But oh hey, don't let those unions cover up anything, they will assuredly be the downfall of western society.

Better we not fuck with the police, or those bright new young American Nazis will bring out the gunships and armored vehicles...and take over. Kinkroids, by then it will most assuredly...be too late to change anything or 'make America great again.'

The side-show of the new American political/societal diaspora would be entertaining, if it...wasn't so sad. Like I say, our children and their children and theirs, will be...spitting on our graves....if they can find them.

Keep in mind that the role of the police is to protect the propertied class from the poor and ill-educated and that most of those files were probably malfeasance actions by the police. The professional class and the moneyed elites are not really effected by police stop and frisk and other racial brutalities.

Phydeaux -> RE: Democrat union abuse (5/3/2016 9:52:05 PM)

Ah remember Detroit - bastion of union cronyism....

Whats the figure - shutting half of Detroits schools?

mnottertail -> RE: Democrat union abuse (5/4/2016 7:15:25 AM)

Bastion of nutsucker cronyism you mean, when the nutsuckers helped GM move to China, all while running the state into the ground.....

Gee what a surprise.

Mayor of flint redirected charity donors to her re-election fund. https://www.yahoo.com/news/lawsuit-accuses-flint-mayor-trying-redirect-water-crisis-004515702.html

What party was the mayor?

Democrat, of course.

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: Democrat union abuse (5/9/2016 11:56:27 PM)

You mean republicans are not the only corrupt politicians? I am shocked I tell you, totally shocked.

To be fair, the mayor is also black and a woman. This must mean that the only politicans we can trust are white, republican men.

Come on, Phydeaux. She's been accused, not found guilty. At this point, it's just hearsay, unless there is hard evidence that hasn't been shared with the public.

She gets her day in court, too.

When the wheels of justice more and more are corrupted by political favoritism, the presumption of innocence will matter less and less.

Besides, my point is not whether one individual politician is guilty. My points are

a). Flint, like detroit, was run as a corrupt democrat fiefdom for the benefit of democrat politicians and at the expense of the people that actually live there.
b). The hypocritical lefties on here will only condemn republicans. Vincent, Lucy, Mnotter etc. are all to happy to condemn a republican governor. But when democrats are indicted - suddenly they are silent.

Proof that they use the poisoning of innocents solely for political gain - and that is repugnant.
c). Frankly Des - I find your willingness to sit on the sidelines and not investigate the facts and take a stand weak. All it takes for evil to flourish is good men to do nothing.

d). I'm lambasted here as a heartless republican. When the truth I'm not a republican, I base my opinions on facts, I care more about people than the people here that are only out to benefit the dim party.

Wow...all the way from the protected money class to one stop and frisk policy in one city that actually lowered crime and was applauded by the law abiding citizens of the community. Why don't you toss in genetically engineered food and climate catastrophe and you'll get to pour all your koolaide out in one post.

In sympathy to your point, I'd like to say that every person has the right to negotiate the most they can get for their labor. If that is through a union, good on them. Unions are supposed to negotiate for the benefit of its members, doing so is not bad on them. But, the reason we elect officials is to represent all people. When those elected officials take money from unions an then give them favorable negotiation terms that damage the average citizen, then the system is broken.
