Now we will find out if America is ready for a woman President. If Clinton does not win it will not be over who is qualified. I believe Trump supporters are a fanatical minority of conservative voters that will have little to say about who are next president is. But I do believe there are a significant portion of Democratic, Republican, and independent voters who would vote for a male Democrat nominee over Trump but may not vote for a woman. Butch

If it is about "being ready" for a woman president it would be allowing the fact that she id a woman override the fact that she isthe worst candidate either party hasever offered.

And if he's smart - there will be a photo op moment - a point - much like today - where clinton is apologizing for braggin she was going to put coal miners out of work - a point that will invite democrats to wonder - what the hell are we doing.

No real politician closes the door on future opportunity? Given what the donald has said about fellow Republicans, no telling what he'll outrage with attacking HRC. It's remotely possible he could even embarrass himself? Leaving a zero chance of winning, a withdrawal from candidacy leaves the field again open.

No. If one quits, it forecloses the option of fundraising. Suspending it is legal terminalese that says - I am quitting, I recognize that I cannot win, but this allows me to keep fundraising, pay off campaign debts, and perhaps be in position to sway things should something strange develop. In short: a). Fundraising. b). Politician's hedge.
