To be fair, it may well be his personality that's the big draw. Or at least the 'personality' that he projects. Clearly, that's what got him the job he's got now, anyway. All I can see is some ordinary bloke with an ordinary personality. Certainly not handsome - but not all that clever, nor all that funny, either. The first time I saw any part of his big US show was only a couple of weeks ago - and I was flabbergasted. All I could think was, 'Eh? I don't know about the speech impediment thing. My friend had messaged me to say that she'd just watched an episode of a British wildlife programme with 'a guy who couldn't sound his Rs' (Chris Packham, I'm guessing) and wondered how a kid could get away with 'sounding so effete' - especially as a TV presenter. But said friend could just have been giving me her personal point of view - or indeed yanking my plonker.
