But actually, since they can't use your name or they can't cash their paychecks, the stupid fucks had no reason to rob you of that. In fact you can just make up a SSN if that is what you're going to do. You could have been hit totally at random.
Sometimes I interpolate the middle two digits of the last four of mine. Happened many many years ago and on the cop radio was the name Mary Miller, and it happened again many years later and it came back to Mary Snow. Well I hope her marriage is going well.
It is no surprise how hard the IRS is to deal with, and like I said, the guy probably claimed 16 dependents so there was not much witholding, but when they wanted you to pay, did they even credit his witholding ? I bet not. That is how they are. You actually could have wound up in jail over this believe it or not. The whole system needs to be scrapped.
