People can be spiritual, moral, behave peacefully and justly...without faith in any god or religion. It is up to the individual and community to secure their own spiritual happiness...without faith.

In fact, the very reason that so much of what the doctrine or dogma calls for is not followed anymore, is because of secular humanism.

Part one isnt quite in the correct order. One way to put it into perspective is that 'religion' is the visible product of spiritual, moral, peaceful and just behavior...and faith, with or without a deity, and they are the ingredients that when mixed together make religion. IOW, religion is the final product. It cant be reversed.

Yeh secular humanism has undermined sacred institution of religion and with guns taken over and they will ruin you if you do not obey thy will of the lord god thy state.

Well of course here again, I flatly disagree. You do not successfully claim the right to attribute my or anyone's good behavior to religion. In fact, that is an insult to me to suggest I or anyone needs that.

Religion as a formation. call it institutionalized, has been one history's worse examples of a peaceful free thinking, moral civil society, having proclaimed so much that occurs there as sin and with dire consequences.

Secular humanism has freed me from the dogma and doctrine that is simply history's most violent and unforgiving aspects of life...called religion. In fact, I write here as a sinner, not having committed genocide, murder, and the like as religion has instructed me. I do however enjoy when a 'slave' consensually serves me but not as disciple Paul sanctions...so I can more piously follow the lord.

Kaliko : "To stay and commune with others there would be, in my eyes, an act of fraud. I had to stop going because I felt like an intruder. "

Well you could just tell them you are giving them a chance. :-)

But seriously I have a similar opinion from a whole different place, though they DID try to get me to go to church. I told them that I do not believe and am not likely to change.

Their response ? "But what if it's true ?".

My family argued a long time, kids were taught what is effective and not. The Parents did not have an iron fist. (usually) I consider that argument totally lame because if I was god, and someone just believed in e because "Just in case I exist" he ain't getting in. He is like some billions of humans who just want to be on the side that's winning. Fukum. Wouldn't you ? (not fuck them literally...)

And just what do they mean by "Pearly gates". You don't make gates out of pearl, they should revoke that guy's contractor license.

It isn't Pearl Gates, but Pearly Gates. That is, they are like pearl. They probably used this.

Well, resorting to the dictionary, it could mean gates adorned with pearls, or it could be a metaphor describing the entrance to a lustrous, shining luminousity, which seems a common theme in the literature.

But, that's not nearly as humorous.

(Thanks for fixing my quote fail, btw)

You guys are nucking futs. But why else would I be here.

Look at the Bibles. There is a version for Catholics, a King James version. Who the hell is King James to change or edit "the word of god" ? I bet the Mormon version is different.

I wonder if the same is true of the Koran. Some say it says to kill all that which is not Muslim, and others say it says to purge all that is not Muslim from Muslim lands. Which is it ?

And then a strictly Jewish Bible, with no new testament in it, I doubt that is the King James or Mormon. What about Gideon, is that yet another version ? Do all Judaic Bibles have the books in them where god gave the chosen people a land but all they had to do was kill all those who lived there ?

And then there's the Talmud. Wouldn't mind having an English copy of that. People have said all kinds of shit about what's in there. Although seriously I probably wouldn't read it. I don't need the ammo, real life provides plenty of that.

For all religions.

Here is something that alot of people do not know :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_slurs

"Quaker
A member of the Religious Society of Friends. Originally derogatory, later embraced by Friends. According to George Fox, founder of the Society of Friends, British magistrate Gervase Bennet "was the first person that called us Quakers, because I bade them tremble at the word of the Lord." Fox had been brought before Bennet on a charge of Blasphemy."

According to them this is not completely verified,l but then so what ? But I do remember that the Quakers did not name themselves that. It was a derogatory term but they accepted it.

Well, nobody got thrown to the meat grinder so, so what ?

I have occasionally mentioned mine in the past before I embraced being a hectic – which is subjective (not prescriptive). And calling for a ban on all religion and orange chocolate.

Which kind of ritual did you have mind? Sacrificing a (toy) sheep under a full moon or ceted candle waxes and driving the pilgrams (or converters in thy case) back to where they came

You flitted from church to church because of negative experiences – would that not negate your serenity and bliss statements

As for your country it has been around a few hundred million years, and the Quakers sect I am led to believe they began in England not that long ago. Before they dispatched missionaries to the four corners, as well as the Spanish, Portuguese etc…to wipe half the heathens of the map and destroy every written word they had (bar four)

I myself like to cuddle up in bed with 2 outa my 3 cats, hot water bottle, devour the odd muffin (twere two sugary donuhts today -you) and gaze at streams and waterfalls.

Have you tried yoga and selling scented candles door to door…..now why is it when Jehovah witnesses comes to my door they are always two hot women?
