Lucylastic -> Security Clearance and headache ahead? (5/7/2016 7:55:22 AM)

This is from Buzzfeed from yesterday, Im sharing it simply as a liability issue, after all Hils is being accused of benghazi and the emailgate issues.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/bensmith/manafort-russia?utm_term=.bf7VWvamnE#.bqA0wOlkbj

With Donald Trump on the brink of receiving classified security briefings from the Central Intelligence Agency, U.S. foreign policy figures of both parties are raising concerns about a close Trump aide’s ties to allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump’s top adviser, Paul Manafort, has spent much of his recent career working for pro-Russian forces in Ukraine, and doing complex deals for an oligarch with close ties to Putin. And while a Democratic senator has already charged Trump is not responsible enough to receive secret information, Manafort’s deep relationships with top pro-Russian figures raise special concerns.

Manafort may be best known for managing the 2010 campaign of Viktor Yanukovych, the Ukrainian politician whose ouster as president prompted a Russian invasion of the country. He has, according to court documents, managed tens of millions of dollars for Oleg Deripaska, an oligarch denied entry to the U.S. reportedly for ties to organized crime, but so close to Vladimir Putin that top Russian officials fought (unsuccessfully) to get him a visa.

Gary Schmitt, a former Reagan Administration official now at the American Enterprise Institute, said he believed Manafort’s ties merit extra scrutiny.
“If Trump is to be given access to sensitive intelligence, which can’t help but implicitly involve even more sensitive information about ‘sources and methods,’ then it’s imperative that any campaign staff who have had commercial ties with foreign governments and politicians not be given access as well until they have gone through a full, thorough background check — not the typical perfunctory review,” he said.

“Given his dubious foreign connections, it’s fair to assume that many in the intelligence and national security community would be extremely wary of him handling or receiving material at even the lowest level of classification,” said Adam Blickstein, a former aide to former Obama defense secretary Robert Gates.
Presidential nominees have been given access to classified briefings for decades, a tradition aimed at ensuring that they are prepared for the presidency, as well as that their campaign rhetoric not depart from secret realities.

Bradley Moss, a national security lawyer in Washington, D.C., said the process typically begins with the formal nomination, at the Republican National Convention, followed by a memorandum of understanding with the General Services Administration, a federal agency, that will offer him access to a “sanitized version of the president’s daily briefing.”

A staffer to Mitt Romney’s 2008 campaign said that both Romney and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan received detailed briefings from members of the same CIA team that briefs Obama. The briefings were conducted at secure facilities in Washington and elsewhere.

Now, I wonder how the nomination race might have played out differently if Bush, Cruz, or any of the other Elephant Illuminati-approved dickheads who were standing had thought to mention that Trump has Putin's hand up his arse last June?

He has such a big mouth & he just loves flapping away, i can see him being on tv or doing a speech and blurbing out classified info.. but if he is who America wants... [X(]

You do get the impression that if he should manage to get the job, the alphabet soup will be working even harder to stop him doing anything than they were with Carter, don't you?
(Unless that's just wishful thinking, of course.)

"the Ukrainian politician whose ouster as president prompted a Russian invasion of the country."

What Russian invasion ? Where do they get this bullshit and why do they think that today, with the internet, people will swallow it ?

T^T

Termyn8or -> RE: Security Clearance and headache ahead? (5/7/2016 12:04:08 PM)

"And while a Democratic senator has already charged Trump is not responsible enough to receive secret information"

The make shit secret that THEY do not want you to know to protect THEMSELVES. Not operatives, not soldiers, THEMSELVES.

And if Trump has loose lips maybe we will actually have a transparent administration that Obama promised but then did the diametric opposite. The lying fuck.

We'll see. If Trump gets in, what does he do about Snowden and Assange ? Is he going to have the air force down another country's Presidential jet to search for someone who did nothing wrong and never set foot in the US ? Try to get some Women to frame him for whatever, which has been proven false ?

Geez, tis disinformation is getting hip deep. The US, by sort of proxy, did in Ukraine the same thing they did in Iran in 1952, which created a state that is never going to forget the imposition of the butchering Shah. While Russian militants did go in there because those countries are closely related, the government did not order them in there.

Now they got a pro oil/bank regime in there, installed against the will of the people. You think the eastern Ukrainians are ever going to forget ?

You know, the US now has alot more people in the world who will never forget than the Nazis could ever hope to achieve.

And the bottom line is if Trump is President he decides what can be declassified. He will be commander in chief of all military and intelligence forces of this country, as such it is his call.

But why would they tell him anything until and unless he is elected ? What the fuck are these people talking about in the first place ?

T^T

Makes zero difference. Putin probably already knows everything from other connections.

I dont doubt about tha panama files. But thi is an immediate concern.
There may well be an investigation , but i did mention she had problems already.
So it seems you are only bothered with what hils and the fact that she has had top security for years, hèr email investigation is clear so far,
Plus its not just about putin, but hey, lets just brush it off.

Much ado about nothing. The Donald...will play ball...or else, period. These meetings are the beginning of that process. (HRC is already a full member of that club being vetted for SoS)

HE too will do whatever [they] tell him to do. That includes concocting a reason for regime change in Iran when...not if necessary.

It looks to me like Trump just hired the best professional image consultant in the business. Doesn't Trump claim hiring the best as one of his major qualifications? And really, wasn't Manafort able to turn Yanukovych's image around for a mere $64k. Such a bargain!

Without intending any particular support of Trump's candidacy, this sounds smarter and better than the actions of our current "The Smartest Man In The Room" (tm) President.

Or do you believe he did not give honest service?

WhoreMods -> RE: Security Clearance and headache ahead? (5/8/2016 9:02:38 AM)

I'd suspect that hiring somebody to airbrush your image who has other interests as well that might well conflict with the job you're after a makeover to look more suitable for isn't really hiring the best in this context.

Get back to this thought after you have looked at his CV. [8|]

I'd be a lot more impressed by his CV if he'd actually managed to get Deripaska into the 'States.

1. Aw, ain't that sweet. You mentioned she had problems already. But, let's just gloss over that and get to Trump!

2. The article was about Putin (and Russia; but that's probably just redundant).

And, finally...

3. The use of the [8D] emoji is usually done to identify an attempt at humor, as these here interwebs are quite incapable of translating nuance. I made a joke. You don't seem to have understood it. I think Trump is dangerous with a comb (just look at his hair!!), so giving him high level clearance - regardless of his connections - is not something I'd recommend. But, this is what is done for the candidates.

Do you think Trump and his assistants/aides won't be vetted?

Or Podesta, via his lobbying firm, which Putin has hired.

When did this Shrillary line start? I thought she was still Hitlary in neocon circles.
