Meat, it could have been a trading post but from what I remember of history the Romans had little to no presence in Ireland. Too busy along Hadrian's Wall I guess! Oh, and another thing about Ireland, if it wearn't for the Irish monks we wouldn't have any literature as it was they who saved most of it from the ravages of the dark ages by copying books and hiding them.

No, that site near Dublin definitely isn't a Roman fort. It's far too small and irregular, and while there were some Roman artefacts found there they were not military in nature. It was probably a trading post or some kind of native settlement.
