ORIGINAL: Nnanji FR Hum, maybe you're right: http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/05/20/clinton-not-trump-upsets-major-nato-allies-needs-a-medical-test-say-european-leaders/ Clinton is simply chin music and which is of no consequence. Poland and Hungary are small potatoes and will eventually fall in line to the new western hegemony. In fact, the mere fact that they vote in such kooks, falls right in line with the future. You see, this is their 'what does America know ?' stage. Then when it is time, it will be 'oh ok, we see now.' Why in the fuck do you think the US threw $5 billion at Ukraine ? (30% of Russia's hard industry and armor production) (Iran/Iraq of the 50's/60's revisited) To start shit...that's why. What is misunderstood is that Russia (the only real concern) after Putin (remember...the long game) will fall in line with the European region and will still have their oil, so.....!! So all of eastern Europe will fall right in line by then too. I read this and before I could respond I had to go outside with my FA revolver and practice some quick draws. In the old days, Ghangis Khan would pull up before a city with his horde behind him. If the gate to the city was closed to the hoard, Ghangis would erect a white tent before the city's walls. On the second day Ghangis would take down the white tent and erect a red tent. On the third day Ghangis took down the red tent and erected a black tent. The white tent meant, since you have closed your door to me I demand your surrender. If you surrender now I will only kill the prince of the city and promise everyone else will be unmolested. The red tent meant, since you did not surrender yesterday, if you surrender today, I will only kill every man in the city, everyone else will be left unmolested. The black tent meant, since you have not surrendered to me, I will take your city and kill everything alive in it; men, women, children, dogs, cats, farm animals, everything. Which he then proceeded to do. So, there are a couple of points: Taking over the world has been a pretty reoccurring occupation for a long time. A lot of people have tried. Nobody has completely succeed. Those who came close eventually ended up on the trash heap of history no matter how close they came. Obviously, a lot of people die, on both sides while the trying is happening. Some people helping it happen are like socialists, useful idiots to be used and discarded when it is useful to do so. Some people helping it happen buy in to the system, like the individual members of Khan's Golden Horde. History, despite a lot of attempts at world domination, did develop the Western Enlightenment and created the principal that government was only tolerated to serve the individual. (Which I understand is not practiced well, or in Europe, but is still and ideal.) When the white tent is erected before your city, maybe it's wise to throw the prince over the wall and open the gate because in history, eventually this too will pass. It's a lot more fun to be outside the gate looking at the tents than inside the wall looking at the tents, even though tomorrow you may have to ride your horse against the city and may die in the adventure. A progressive view that they can invent a government that won't eventually morph into this type of thing is a joke. The progressive view that they can invent a government that will be a benign parent that teaches all of its little subjects how to be good subjects is even more stupid. A progressive view that we can build a government that will have the power to take from some people and equitably distribute to others less advantaged and will never abuse that power is a cosmic joke. A conservative view that a smaller, less powerful, government would probably mitigate this sort of thing from happening. Notice, I didn't say prevent, I said mitigate. You can see progressives fighting smaller government every day. It's an ongoing ordeal. Everyone is going to die someday. Whether you are inside or outside the city you are going to die, so pick the hill you'll die upon and have fun with it. Every day you say it doesn't matter, "because I have no power" gives the Khan more power because he has a positive attitude. Every arrow you fling over the wall at the Horde makes the Horde smaller so eventually history will balance the Horde. Do not fear, everything you now have will eventually go away anyway, so enjoy the fight, but do it intelligently so you don't become a personal target of the Khan. He is pretty inventive at making your last moments painful. Well starting with all of the attempts at world domination and its apparent death with enlightenment, I suggest two main differences. One is that since that time, govt. has been more than relied upon for offense as well as defense and particularly as [it] relates to a slow grind to hegemony. Something Khan didn't believe in. He was a 'right-now' kinda guy. Two, he would have drooled over 5 new Ford class carriers and their groups meaning 15 or 13 total by 2043 depending on how many they actually do retire. The progressive tilt toward govt. as historically been almost exclusively in the interest of it domestic issues and while in some eyes is possible cover for fascism, while I suggest it's much rather the conservative and its modern morphism, neoconservativism, has always had and continues its desire for an ever more controlling govt. and larger, more powerful military including world-wide projection of that power now complimented by small tactical intrusions including its consolidated drone operations, something else Khan would have loved maybe even allowing him to eliminate the white tent. Please let me know when conservatives so-called ever followed through on their small limited govt. propaganda or when they do start...will you cite that for me. Does make for great rhetorical bullshit however. Prof. Keynes did remind us that in the end 'we are all dead' but having that obvious factor pointed out failed to effect any meaningful govt. reform away from the hunter/gatherer policy of the powerful. As for what I have now...I can't take with me anyway. What doesn't matter, is who we elect as they are mere puppets, something my original OP has pointed out in 'No we Can't.' Even Sanders would soon get the message and yes, Trump will too, will sell out and play ball. As I keep reminding (and Khan couldn't do) the 'establishment' is playing the long game.
